The Thursday Three: Slow Burn Romance

The Thursday Three

I’ve been kicking around the idea of doing a weekly feature for recommendations for a while now and it’s finally time to launch! I’m calling it The Thursday Three. Each week, I’ll share three recommendations with you. They might be based on a genre or subgenre, trope, release date, or any other little thing I get into my head. I’ll give a quick blurb about the book and give you a quick idea of what you’ll find in the story.

I have #slowburnromance on the brain right now since I just finished reading The Wall of Winnipeg and Me for the 20th time. (Yes, literally.) I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off my new feature than with my all-time favorite book and a couple of other gems.

The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata

Surely y’all knew this was going to be at the top of my list, right? Mariana Zapata is the queen of slow burn romance. The Wall of Winnipeg and Me is one of her most popular and my all-time favorite book.

✔️ Fake it till you make it
✔️ Marriage of convenience

Mister Romance by Leisa Rayven

Leisa Rayven writes a darn good slow burn. The payoff always makes it worth the wait.

✔️ An escort who knows caters towards women’s fantasies (outside of the bedroom!)
✔️ Complex, layered characters
✔️ Epic romance

Marriage for One by Ella Maise

Marriage for One

I’m not sure if all of Ella Maise’s books are slow burn, but the ones I’ve read are. And they’ve been delicious.

✔️ Marriage of convenience
✔️ Brooding hero
✔️ Sexual tension and secrets
