That’s a Wrap: September 2021

That's a Wrap

Excuse me, can someone please tell me how it’s October already? Like, where has 2021 gone? Time literally has no meaning anymore.

You might have noticed things have been pretty quiet around here for, well, quite a while now. I’m not sure why I’m finding it so difficult to create content for this blog, but it’s so low on my list of priorities that I often just forget about it. I know I’ve said this before, but I’m going to try to do better. I made the rash decision to participate in Blogtober this year — which might be a huge mistake — so hopefully things will be a little more active. I’ll have more to say about Blogtober later, but you can see all of my posts here.

I’m still not reading as much as I was pre-pandemic, but I think a lot of that has to do with the time I’m spending sewing. I need to keep my Etsy shop stocked, right? I’ve had a blast working on fall and Halloween-themed bookmarks over the last few weeks. Make sure you check out what I have to offer. You can use code BLOG20 to save 20% while you’re there.

Now let’s talk about the books…

Reading Challenges Update

First up, the Goodreads Reading Challenge! I met my goal of 100 books in September. Huzzah! I also forgot to grab a screenshot on October 1, so these numbers are a bit off. But, you get the idea.

Goodreads September

My goal for the 2021 Tackle My TBR Reading Challenge is four books each month. I read four in September.

Total: 44/48 (I’m not sure this is totally accurate, but I’m rolling with it.)

The only other long-term challenge I’m doing this year is #12Reads12Friends (created by @bookwormgram). The gist of this one is you solicit recommendations from friends and select twelve of them to read. Yes, that’s one per month. After DNFing two months in a row, I think I’ve mostly ejected out of this challenge. Oops. I may or may not try to catch up at some point. (Let’s be honest, I probably won’t.)

Total: 5/12

Looking Ahead

Would it surprise you to know I don’t really have a whole lot on my calendar for October? It shouldn’t. Nearly two years into this pandemic, I’m convinced this is the way now. I don’t want to make plans for fear I have to cancel them. So if you need me I’ll be in or near my apartment, either reading, watching football or sewing. 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you want to know more about what’s going on in my world, follow me on Instagram. I have a bookish one (@kimberlyfayereads) and a non-bookish one (@kimberlyfaye_). On the bookish one, you’ll find… lots of books. (And story templates dealing with books!) On the non-bookish one, you’ll find the other side of my life… mostly my cat and some random life photos.

Stay safe and healthy!
