I was really nervous about Van because, well, he wasn’t the most likable guy in Lucas. But OMG did I fall in love with him and this book. Van had some major grump going on, but underneath it all he was amazing.
Sawyer Bennett is one of those authors whose work I always enjoy. Lucas was no exception, even if I kinda wanted to shake sense into both characters at times. There was a lot of back and forth, but ultimately I liked where everything ended up. It was a good, solid read that totally fed my need for some hockey romance.
Much like many of my romance-loving friends, I had full on royal romance fever after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. I started looking at what royal romance to read next when I realized I owned Reluctantly Royal, but hadn’t read it.
There was a moment while reading Royally Screwed that I had to stop reading and pull up Goodreads to see which characters would get the next two books in the Royally series. I straight up yelped and cheered when I saw Logan and Ellie would be paired up in Royally Endowed.
Can I be perfectly honest for a minute? I didn’t expect to like Henry as much as I did. Don’t get me wrong, he was mostly ok as a side character in Royally Screwed, but the idea of him as a hero/love interest kinda just made me shrug. His immature, party-boy ways didn’t do much for me.
Why in the world did I wait so long to read Royally Screwed? Seriously, why? I loved every single little thing about this book. The only good thing that came out of waiting so long to read it is I got to binge the entire series in one week and, well, I can’t be mad about that.
