Five Things Friday

TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!

If you’ve been visiting my blog for a while now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. It’s gone through a couple of iterations now, but I’m pretty happy with where it’s landed.

WHAT I’VE BEEN READING

The Ex Hex What the Hex Boyfriend

I’m in the mood for all things fall and my recent reading totally reflects that. The Ex Hex and What the Hex were super fun witchy contemporaries. Pumpkin Pounder isn’t my usual fare, but it was fun, sexy and seasonal. I’ve not yet finished Boyfriend, since I just started it this morning, but I’m loving it. I don’t read much new adult romance these days, but I’ll always make an exception for Sarina Bowen’s books.

THIS WEEK’S OBSESSION

I’ve been super reluctant to watch The Great British Baking Show, no matter how many friends loudly proclaimed their love for it. I really didn’t understand the fascination. Then when I was sick on the couch last week, I decided to give it a shot because I wasn’t in the mood to rewatch any of my favorites. I get it now. It’s absolutely delightful. It’s so soft and wholesome. The last reality cooking show competition I watched was Hell’s Kitchen and, well, this is the antithesis of that. I watched one season in a day and a half and have big plans to watch the others between football games soon.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK

Hirshhorn Museum

🎶 I always feel like somebody’s watching me 🎵

Obviously, I went with a non-bookish photo this week. 😉 I was working today and looked out of my office window to see … this. It’s equal parts cool and creepy. This is the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, DC. They’re doing renovations and there’s scaffolding surrounding the building. They took advantage of this by wrapping this “Draw the Curtain” exhibit around the building.

WHAT’S HAPPENING

It’s delightfully autumnal these days and I’m absolutely living for it. This has been a pretty chill week, with lots of balcony time spent reading in a hoodie with a blanket on my lap. It’s perfection. When I’m not reading or sewing I’m watching football. It’s all of my favorite things so I can’t complain too hard.
