Five Things Friday

TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!

If you’ve been visiting my blog for a while now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. It’s gone through a couple of iterations now, but I’m pretty happy with where it’s landed.

WHAT I’VE BEEN READING

To Sir Phillip with Love Hang the Moon The Wall of Winnipeg and Me Mariana Zapata

I was on a very, very good reading streak with To Sir Phillip, With Love, Hang the Moon, and my (20th!) reread of The Wall of Winnipeg and Me. Then, I decided to read my 12 Reads, 12 Friends rec for June and my streak was blown. I am very much NOT a dark romance reader and I should’ve listened to my instincts when I read the blurb for Sea of Ruin. Instead, I listened to five chapters — and was completely traumatized — before deciding to DNF.

THIS WEEK’S OBSESSION

I don’t know that I’d actually consider myself obsessed with In the Heights, but I sure enjoyed it.

WHAT’S HAPPENING

It’s been a minute since I did my regular blog features, but I’m trying to get back on the bandwagon. Not a lot has changed for me, despite being fully vaccinated since May. I’m still working remotely (for now) and loving it. It’s going to be so hard to go back to the office next month. Now that the cicadas (ew) are finally gone, I’ve been able to enjoy my balcony more. It really is the perfect evening reading spot. I’m reading lots of books — at least compared to a year ago — and most of them are audiobooks. I opened my Etsy shop and am keeping busy stocking it. The most exciting news for this week is I am FINALLY going to get my hair cut. The last time it was cut was in February 2020. I’m not entirely sure what I’m doing with it yet, so I’m nervous, but we’ll see what happens!
