That’s a Wrap: January 2021

That's a Wrap

Oh, look. It’s nearly mid-February and I still haven’t finished my January wrap-up post. If that’s not totally on brand, I don’t know what is. πŸ˜‰

It’s a whole new year and it honestly doesn’t feel that different from the last one. Does anyone else feel like they’re just stuck in this endless cycle of THE SAME DAY OVER AND OVER AGAIN? It’s like Groundhog Day (the movie, not the holiday). I’m fairly well settled into my new apartment, but it seems like there’s always something to do β€” hanging photos, a constant loop of redecorating, normal adulting β€” and I’m not complaining. I’m getting back into my reading and bookstagram groove. Now to work on the blogging side of things. πŸ˜‚

Other than that? Not much else going on. I’ve gotten back into sewing and I’m kicking around the idea of starting an Etsy shop. There’s a lot of winter left and it’s not like I’m doing a lot (or really anything) outside of the apartment, so I have plenty of time to sew. It’s a fun way to kill a few hours in a week and, honestly, I have more fabric than I know what to do with. I’m not going to allow myself to buy any more until I use some of this. πŸ˜‚ I am a fabric addict.

But now let’s talk about the books…

Reading Challenges Update

First up, the Goodreads Reading Challenge! My screenshot is a little outdated because my post is so late, but I’m on track and that’s all that matters.

Goodreads Challenge Jan 21

My goal for the 2021 Tackle My TBR Reading Challenge is four books each month. I read five in January!

Total: 5/48

Romancing Mister BridgertonΒ Can't Help Falling Written in the Stars

Call Me Maybe Eight Winter Nights

The only other long-term challenge I’m doing this year is #12Reads12FriendsΒ (created by @bookwormgram). The gist of this one is you solicit recommendations from friends and select twelve of them to read. Yes, one per month. My January pick was Alexandria Bellefleur’s Written in the Stars and it was rec’d by Laura (@whattoreadnextpod), Katie (@kstubooks), and Jessi (@bookishjessi). It was a five star through and through!Β

Total: 1/12

Looking Ahead

As you might imagine, there’s not a whole lot on my calendar for February. It’s not like I’m out traveling or meeting up with friends. If you need me, I’ll be in my apartment reading or sewing, or watching Bridgerton for the billionth time. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Want to stay up-to-date with upcoming romance releases? I can help with that. Check out my release calendar. (It’s a work in progress for 2021, but I’m on it.)

If you want to know more about what’s going on in my world, follow me on Instagram. I have a bookish one (@kimberlyfayereads) and a non-bookish one (@kimberlyfaye_). On the bookish one, you’ll find… lots of books. (And story templates dealing with books!) On the non-bookish one, you’ll find the other side of my life… mostly my cat and some random home and travel photos. (You know, from when we used to be able to travel and hopefully once we can start again.)

Stay safe and healthy. Wear a mask!

  1. I totally agree about how it is like Groundhog Day. I’m so ready for this to be done! I’m terrible too because I moved into my house almost two years ago, and I still haven’t hung up anything on the wall unless there was already a nail there when I moved in. I should do that I guess. But I’ve always had family to help me with it. So I’ve never done it myself. I guess I should be embarrassed to admit that at my age. Hope you enjoy the new Samantha Young book, it was just a nice, fluffy read.
