I might not have read as many books this year as I typically would, but I still discovered some *amazing* new and new-to-me authors. In fact, many of these were bright spots in an otherwise lackluster year. Once I get my reading mojo back for real, I have every intention of devouring the backlists of the authors who have written more than one book. (And I’ve already done that for a couple of them…) And for the newbies? I’ll be waiting with grabby hands to see what they publish next.

Kate Clayborn
This book was magical and it set off my love affair with Kate Clayborn’s words. I’ve only read one of her backlist books so far, but I plan to address that soon.
Joanna Shupe
I’ve not read many historical romances that take place outside of England and this one was an absolute delight. I’ve since read several of Joanna’s backlist, but am also trying my best to savor them.
Lenora Bell
I adored this book. (And it was excellent on audio, too.) I can’t wait to go back and read the other books in the series.
Olivia Dade
Olivia Dade is everything to me. Her characters, her storytelling, her writing… I love all of it. It’s so nice to finally see plus-sized characters loved for who they are and not based on some contingency of change.
Chloe Liese
Chloe has been on my TBR for ages and I *finally* got around to read her this year. Her books are fantastic and I really can’t wait to go back and binge her backlist as well.
Alexis Hall
This book was a total gem. I can’t wait to read more of his books in the future. I’ve already grabbed a few backlist titles for my TBR.
Cara Bastone
If you’ve not read any of Cara’s books yet, what are you waiting on? She’s amazing.
Rosie Danan
This was one of my most highly-anticipated books of 2020 and I’m thrilled to say it lived up to exceeded my expectations. Absolutely wonderful. I will read all of Rosie’s words from now on.
Farrah Rochon
Farrah’s another author who’s been on my TBR for ages and I’m happy I finally got around to reading one of her books. It was fantastic. I can’t wait to binge her backlist!
Sarah Hogle
You Deserve Each Other is another wonderful debut. I swear I haven’t stopped thinking about it since I finished it. I’ll be waiting with grabby hands for her upcoming releases.

Did you discover any new or new-to-you authors this year?
Any recommendations for me?
I have got to get Oliva Dade on my TBR this year! I mean actually to read. I have a copy of The Boyfriend Project, but I loaned it to my sister to read before I could and now I don’t know when I’ll get it. You’ve got several others on here I need to try as well!
