You might have thought that with basically unlimited time and few other obligations, I’d have “read all the books” in 2020. But, you’d be wrong. It was a challenging reading year for me. I found that with everything going on, I just lacked the focus to sit down and read very often. In fact, several of the books on this list were ones I’d picked in 2019 as my most anticipated for 2020. And I never got around to them. But hey, there’s always 2021, right?

Beach Read by Emily Henry
I’ll be honest, it was partially the hype that kept me from picking up Beach Read this year. Well, that and I questioned whether it was romance or women’s fiction… But having been reassured by a number of romance readers, I think I’ll get around to reading it in 2021.
How to Fail at Flirting by Denise Williams
Between my move and holiday prep — and football — I hardly read at all in November or December. Any new releases in those months didn’t stand a chance of getting read. But it’s all queued up!
Love Her or Lose Her by Tessa Bailey
My reasoning for not reading Love Her or Lose Her yet are complicated. I liked the first book and I tend to thoroughly enjoy Tessa’s books. Here’s the thing — the hero’s name in this book is the same as my ex. THE EX. I’m afraid a dirty talking fictional Dominic might push me over the edge. 😂
The Honey-Don’t List by Christina Lauren
I have absolutely no excuse for being behind on Christina Lauren’s books. Truly.
How to Catch a Queen by Alyssa Cole
I’ve been anxious to read this book since I saw this stunning cover, but I just never made the time. Kind of the story of my year, if I’m being honest.
The Devil of Downtown by Joanna Shupe
Joanna Shupe is one of my new favorite author discoveries of 2020 and I’m thrilled to have a lot of backlist reading to tackle in the new year.
Daring and the Duke by Sarah MacLean
Confession: I’ve still not read any of the books in this series. Total fangirl failure.
Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert
Talia Hibbert was a new favorite author discovery in 2019. I fell in love with her writing in Get a Life, Chloe Brown and vowed to read her new release ASAP. Well, obviously I didn’t or it wouldn’t be on this list. 😉
Want You to Want Me by Lorelei James
I have absolutely no excuse for not having read this book yet, either. Soon, hopefully!
Snapped by Alexa Martin
Again, no excuse. I’ve enjoyed this series so much and I was anxious to read it. But alas, it just didn’t happen.
Let’s Chat
Were there any books you meant to read this year but didn’t get to?
Have you read any from my list?
Which one(s) should I bump to the top?
You’ve got a few on your list I need to read, and one that I did get to. Let’s hope we get to these sooner rather than later.

I wish I’d read Beach Read last year too. Sadly, it’s still sitting unread on my Kindle. I hope to finally read it in 2021 and I hope you eventually pick it up too 🙂
