Five Things Friday

TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!

If you’ve been visiting my blog for a while now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. It’s gone through a couple of iterations now, but I’m pretty happy with where it’s landed.

WHAT I’VE BEEN READING

Hands Down Teach Me Only When I Love Hard Boyfriend Material

My earlier reading streak went a little cold — I blame Hands Down because it gave me a GINORMOUS book hangover and made it damn near impossible to read anything else. But, I’m working my way back. These are a few of my recent faves and one I’m currently reading.

THIS WEEK’S OBSESSION

For pretty much the first time since *waves hands wildly* all this began, I’m not talking about my obsession with Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. (Though I am still obsessed. I can’t deny that.) I’m also hopelessly obsessed with Hamilton. (Yes, I’m late to the party.) Since it was released to Disney+, I’ve watched it three times. I’ve also listened to the soundtrack numerous times, watched the video above (and a bunch of others from YouTube) more than once, and considered buying the book it was based off. I get the hype now. I’m sorry I didn’t sooner.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK

Did you read my Twitter thread about how I bought back one of my childhood books and didn’t know it until I got home? Here it is! Also pictured: the other books I bought from the thrift shop.

WHAT’S HAPPENING

Hey, it’s mid-July. Time is weird right now. It’s simultaneously flying and moving oh-so-slowly. I’m still keeping on — working every day (remotely, of course) and fitting in a little activity (walking, usually) and reading. It’s been so blasted hot here the last couple of weeks that I’ve felt like it’s sucking everything out of me. But, my family and I are healthy and mostly happy so there’s no sense in complaining.
