Hey, it’s May. Which again doesn’t feel a whole lot different than the last two months, but here we are. Let’s take a look at my bookish month.
While March seemed to last 14 weeks, April kinda flew by. I guess I’ve settled into a routine. Or some semblance of one anyhow. My reading is less broken than it was. I read nearly twice as many books in April as I did in March. I also re-learned how to sew and spent a good bit of time experimenting with different sizes of book sleeves and dipping my toe into the world of mask-making. The results were mixed. I also spent a lot of time shopping for fabric. It’s an addiction and I’m not at all sorry about it.
Truthfully, I don’t have too much to say right now. I’m grateful for my family, friends — even if I only see them virtually — and my cats. I’m also grateful for audiobooks, Zoom, and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

Reading Challenges Update
First up, the Goodreads Reading Challenge! It looks like I made up some ground in April, but the truth is I decided to lower my goal for the year. I don’t feel even a little bad about it, either. It was stressing me out and reading isn’t supposed to be that.
My goal for the 2020 Tackle My TBR Reading Challenge is four books each month. I read 11 in April! Hooray! Here’s one place I’m excelling with my reading. Now when it comes to reviewing… not so much. But hey, baby steps.
It’s my third year doing an audiobook-focused challenge and I decided to up my goal this year! Eeep! My goal for the 2020 Audiobook Challenge is FOUR books each month. A stretch? Maybe. But, this is one area of my reading that’s actually going well. I read another 8 in March.
After deciding to DNF the first Romanceopoly last year, I knew I had to give it another shot this year. I’m coming after you, Romanceopoly 2020! I did a little better with Romanceopoly in April. I still have quite a bit of ground to make up, but I’m feeling better about it now.
Much like with April, I find myself with no plans for May. 😂🤷🏻♀️ I suppose I’ll head back to Virginia at some point in May, but I’m not sure when exactly. I can do everything for work as well from here as I can in Virginia, so why go back to a small apartment with zero outdoor space before I have to? My office may or may not begin opening on June 1, but that’s still up in the air. You know, like almost everything is right now. But it’s fine. I’m here in Pennsylvania. I’m safe and so is my family. Can’t ask for much more, right?
Now, onto the books!
May releases I’m excited about
Want to stay up-to-date with upcoming romance releases? I can help with that. Check out my release calendar.
If you want to know more about what’s going on in my world, follow me on Instagram. I have a bookish one (@kimberlyfayereads) and a non-bookish one (@kimberlyfaye_). On the bookish one, you’ll find… lots of books. (And story templates dealing with books!) On the non-bookish one, you’ll find the other side of my life… my cats, travels, etc.
That’s a wrap! Be gentle on yourselves and make the best out of May. Stay safe and healthy, everyone! 💕
