Well, it’s April. Which, if I’m being honest, doesn’t feel all that different from March. But, it’s a new month and that means it’s time to wrap up the previous one. Even if there’s not a whole lot to say about it.
This “new normal” is bizarre and I’m still struggling a bit with it. I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to it, and honestly, I’m not sure I should try. I’m doing my best, but it’s hard to focus. My reading has suffered for sure. My blogging has suffered even more. But, I’m not going to be hard on myself. I’d be thrilled if I could focus long enough to actually escape into a good book. Or, you know, lots of good books. Maybe I’ll do better in April. At this point, I’m just trying to take things one day at a time.
I’m working remotely through at least the end of April. I ended up leaving Virginia — after a short self-quarantine to ensure I wasn’t contagious — and headed back to Pennsylvania so I didn’t have to go through this alone. There was something about the idea of being alone in a 700 square foot apartment for 23 hours a day for an undetermined amount of time that just didn’t work for me. Plus, being city-adjacent wasn’t really exciting. The country, on the other hand, sounded wonderful. So here I am.
Truthfully, I don’t have a lot else to say right now. It is what it is. I’m grateful for my family, friends — even if I only see them virtually, and my cats. Also: audiobooks, jigsaw puzzles, Zoom, and FaceTime. Stay safe and healthy, everyone! 💕

Reading Challenges Update
First up, the Goodreads Reading Challenge! Well, March was NOT the month where I got caught up on the Goodreads Reading Challenge. Far from it, in fact. Can I make up the lost ground in April? Only time will tell.
My goal for the 2020 Tackle My TBR Reading Challenge is four books each month. I read exactly that. And I didn’t review a single one of them. 🤷🏻♀️ Maybe this month? We’ll see what happens.
It’s my third year doing an audiobook-focused challenge and I decided to up my goal this year! Eeep! My goal for the 2020 Audiobook Challenge is FOUR books each month. A stretch? Maybe. But, this is one area of my reading that’s actually going well. I read another 4 in March.
After deciding to DNF the first Romanceopoly last year, I knew I had to give it another shot this year. I’m coming after you, Romanceopoly 2020! I’m still going with Romanceopoly. Even if it’s slow progress. I might not complete both the sun and the moon packs, but I’m pretty confident I’ll finish the board once. *fingers crossed*
So, April. 🤷🏻♀️ As you can probably imagine, I have ZERO plans for the foreseeable future. You, too? This month, I’m going to try to balance things better — work, being active, reading, and actually blogging. We’ll see what happens though. If 2020 has taught me anything, it’s not to look too far ahead. Or, if you do, don’t get disappointed when things change. Is that pessimistic? It might be. But, here we are.
Now, onto the books!
April releases I’m excited about
Want to stay up-to-date with upcoming romance releases? I can help with that. Check out my release calendar.
If you want to know more about what’s going on in my world, follow me on Instagram. I have a bookish one (@kimberlyfayereads) and a non-bookish one (@kimberlyfaye_). On the bookish one, you’ll find… lots of books. (And story templates dealing with books!) On the non-bookish one, you’ll find the other side of my life… my cats, travels, etc.
That’s a wrap! Be gentle on yourselves and make the best out of April. Stay safe and healthy, everyone! 💕
