Five Things Friday

TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!

If you’ve been visiting my blog for a while now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. It’s gone through a couple of iterations now, but I’m pretty happy with where it’s landed.

FAVORITE BOOK OF THE WEEK

Baking Me Crazy

I had SUPER high hopes for the new Smartypants Romance books and my first one was a HUGE hit. Baking Me Crazy was so freaking cute and swoony. Levi and Joss stole my heart and I never want it back.

THIS WEEK’S OBSESSION

I’ve been in a kind of weird place mentally this week. I’m going to blame it mostly on the Washington Nationals and their run to the World Series. My friend who passed away back in August was a HUGE Nats fan. (Ok, she was a HUGE Cubbies fan, but the Nats were her second love.) It just seems so unfair that she’s not here to see them finally get to the World Series. Though, maybe she’s actually pulling some strings… from the best seat in the house. Anyhow, I can’t hear this song without thinking about her. I finally watched the video this week and it’s amazing. Emotional, but amazing.

The Game Plan

Can we talk about how my parents have THE BEST lighting on their back porch? It made me wish I’d brought more books and props home with me. As it is, I took a whole bunch of blank Kindle photos, so I’ll be using the hell out of those in the coming weeks.

THIS WEEK IN A NUTSHELL

I enjoyed my long weekend in Pennsylvania so much. I didn’t want to come back to Virginia. My mom and I had fun in Morgantown, even though WVU lost. (Which wasn’t entirely unexpected.) I had a chance to see my friend Kelly and chat with her a little while before the game. It was a much-needed chill weekend. This week went by pretty quickly and I’m ready for the weekend to start. I have big plans to do absolutely nothing. Well, that’s not entirely true. After work tonight, I’m stopping at Bath & Body Works to take advantage of their Buy 2, Get 2 Free deal on candles and then I’m getting a massage. Huzzah! The rest of my weekend will be dedicated to football, ready and catching up all the things I let slide this week.
