So, I kinda feel like August snuck up on me. Am I the only one? Guess it’s time to look back on July in the latest installment of That’s a Wrap!
July wasn’t a bad month overall. If you take away one horrific sunburn, anyhow. Seriously, it was the worst. It made me never want to go outside with skin showing again… no matter how much sunscreen I put on. It legit took two weeks to heal and it’s still pretty freaking itchy. But, I digress. At least I had fun while getting burned to a crisp, right?
It’s been horrifically hot and humid in DC, so I spent a lot of time hibernating in my apartment in July. That’s how I roll. It wasn’t all bad though. Being forced to be inside gave me a chance to read a lot and even catch up on some reviews. I still have more to go, but any progress is good. I didn’t just sit around reading, though. The indoor time also gave me an opportunity to tackle some small projects and do some hardcore cleaning and organizing. It’s amazing how much STUFF I have in this one bedroom apartment.
I definitely can’t complain where the books are concerned. I read some freaking awesome books in July. All but two of the books I read were four or five star reads. I discovered a couple new-to-me authors AND knocked quite a few books off my TBR. Some that’d been there for years. Literally. And I even reviewed most of them. ?
If you want to know more about what’s going on in my world, follow me on Instagram. I have a bookish one (@kimberlyfayereads) and a non-bookish one (@kimberlyfaye_). On the bookish one, you’ll find… lots of books. (And story templates dealing with books!) On the non-bookish one, you’ll find the other side of my life… my cats, travels, etc.

Reading Challenges Update
First up, the Goodreads Reading Challenge! Even though I didn’t post my monthly wrap up on the first day of August, I did remember to grab a screenshot. Hooray! As you can see, my Goodreads challenge is progressing nicely.
My goal for the 2019 Tackle My TBR is four books each month. I read NINE in July… and I even reviewed a few. The topic for July was Set in a place you’d like to visit and I chose Meghan Quinn’s That Second Chance. I’ve always wanted to visit Maine and Port Snow sounds exceptionally delightful.
This is my second year in a row doing an audiobook-focused challenge. My goal for the 2019 Audiobook Challenge is three books each month. Nailed it!
Romanceopoly is such a great challenge. I just wish I was better at giving it the attention it deserves. I did knock out a couple more spaces this month, but I’m not sure I’m going to be able to finish the board by the end of the year. We’ll see.
August should be another fairly chill month. Or at least I’m hoping it is. I have one big trip planned that I’m super excited about, though. I’ll be heading to NYC at the end of the month for a signing. While I’m there, I’m meeting up with Estelle from Forever Romance. I can’t wait. It’ll be so fun to chat romance books with her! Other than that, it’ll be more of the same — reading, taking photos, blogging, adulting… no complaints though. Oh! I do have something super fun coming up in the next couple weeks, too. I can’t tell you much, but if you’re a romance reader, you’ll want to keep an eye on my social media around the middle of August… ?
Now, onto the books!
August Book(s) I Need in My Life Immediately!
Some of my most-anticipated book(s) of the month… or the one(s) I haven’t received an early copy of, anyhow. 🙂
August releases I need to read immediately!
These upcoming releases are at the top of my TBR! Soon, my pretties, soon.
Book(s) YOU need in YOUR life immediately!
I spent a lot of July focusing on ARCs and my TBR, so I didn’t get around to many upcoming releases. But I just finished this one last night and it was wonderful.
That’s a wrap! I hope you have a great month ahead!
