TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!
If you’ve been visiting my blog for awhile now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. It’s gone through a couple iterations now, but I’m pretty happy with where it’s landed.
NEW TO MY QUEUE
FAVORITE BOOK OF THE WEEK
I’m 100% kicking myself for not reading this book sooner. The sad truth is, I’ve been a little “meh” about some of Meghan’s more recent releases, so I wasn’t in a big hurry to read this one. But let me tell you, there was absolutely nothing meh about this book. Love love loved it.
THIS WEEK’S OBSESSION
I am here for the intersection of country music and feminism The Highwomen are bringing into the light these days. This song is AMAZING. And so, honestly, are the four women behind this movement. They’re giving me life.
PIC OF THE WEEK
C.A.T. decided to hop into my July wrap-up photo and make himself comfortable. ? It wasn’t really the look I was going for, but it was too good to pass up. The combination of books and cats is pretty on-brand for me… The only thing missing is a cup of coffee. ?
THIS WEEK IN A NUTSHELL
You might’ve noticed I’ve been a little bit more active on the blog the last few days. (Ok, a lot more active.) I’m trying to get back into the blogging and reviewing groove, so I’m hoping this keeps up. We’ll see. I’m sure I’ll get distracted by something else sooner or later. But, I have the best of intentions anyhow. The NetGalley Reviewathon and ARC August are definitely helping towards my goal of being more active — and more timely when it comes to reviews. I did a whole lot of reading over the weekend and during the week, too. Nothing of note from the non-bookish side of life and I’m ok with that. I’ve been overdue for a bit of a calm period. ?
I am super excited about a bookish event happening this weekend though. Abby Jimenez will be in DC and I’m going to see her! Eeeeeeep! The Friend Zone is one of my top reads of 2019 so far, so it’s going to be wonderful to meet her and tell her in person how much the book meant to me.
How was your week?
