TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!
If you’ve been visiting my blog for awhile now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. It’s gone through a couple iterations now, but I’m pretty happy with where it’s landed.
NEW TO MY QUEUE
FAVORITE BOOK OF THE WEEK
As an unapologetic fan of Lisa Kleypas’ historical romances, I’ve always been intrigued by her contemporaries. I’ve also been a little afraid to read them because what if they don’t live up to my expectations?! I’d be heartbroken. Well, I finally found a good excuse to read the first book — my first ever buddy read! My goal with this book was to read three chapters per day. It’d take me about a week to finish it at that rate. Well, I read three chapters the first day. Then half the book the second and the other half on the third. I couldn’t put it down. I mean that literally, too. It was so addicting. I can’t wait to read the next book!
THIS WEEK’S OBSESSION
US women’s soccer star Megan Rapinoe just danced out on stage to “All I Do Is Win,” joining the rest of the team for a ceremony in New York City to celebrate their World Cup championship https://t.co/zzXBncsI44 pic.twitter.com/N5nbnhchDQ

Folks, these are the strong AF women I didn’t even know I needed in my life. I’ve legit lost track of the number of times I’ve watched this video. And I’m probably not going to stop anytime soon.
PIC OF THE WEEK
How much do you love my “summer blues” romance stack? I’m damn near obsessed with it. So many wonderful blue books. 😍
THIS WEEK IN A NUTSHELL
Last weekend was glorious. Hot, but glorious. I left work at 2:00 on Wednesday and didn’t go back to the office until Monday morning. I had an absolutely delightful four-day weekend with ZERO PLANS. (The best kind of weekend, IMHO.) I got a ton of adulting done. I read a lot. And I even reviewed some books. Holla! Then I went back to work and the chaos began. (I mean it wasn’t THAT bad.) Now the weekend is almost here again and while it’s only two days this time, I’m still excited for it!
How was your week?
