There are a lot of things I’m good at, but getting my That’s a Wrap month in review posts done on the first couple days of the new month is NOT one of them. ? Oh well. I’ve been busy. Here goes my June recap!
I’m not even going to try to make any excuses for why I’m just now getting to my monthly wrap up post. It is what it is, right? Better late than never. June was an ok kind of month, both with regards to reading and life in general. I had fun with my mom and some friends in Pittsburgh for the Black & Gold Author Event. Two weeks later, I had all kinds of bookish fun at my first-ever ALA Conference in DC. All the bookish things!
Other bookish fun: I agreed to sit on a panel of romance bloggers during the Baltimore Book Festival (which, if you know me IRL, you know I HATE public speaking). I’m sure it’ll be a good time with other romance bloggers though! I’ve booked a trip to NYC in August for a signing event AND to spend time with one of my favorite publicists, so that’s super exciting. And not really bookish, but kinda — I was invited to join the Amazon Vine reviewer program. Eeep!
My reading month was decent. There were A LOT of new releases in June, so I spent a lot of time drowning in ARCs, but I read some fantastic books. I also didn’t get to all of them, so I’ll be playing catch up as time allows this month.
If you want to know more about what’s going on in my world, follow me on Instagram. I have a bookish one (@kimberlyfayereads) and a non-bookish one (@kimberlyfaye_). On the bookish one, you’ll find… lots of books. (And story templates dealing with books!) On the non-bookish one, you’ll find the other side of my life… my cats, travels, etc.

Reading Challenges Update
First up, the Goodreads Reading Challenge! Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but I didn’t grab a screenshot on the first day of the month. Whoops. Close enough, though. I’m ahead on my challenge. Huzzah!
My goal for the 2019 Tackle My TBR is four books each month. I read exactly that in January, but reviewed none. The topic for January was On my TBR the longest and I ticked that one off the list with J. Lynn’s Tempting the Player.
My goal for the 2019 Audiobook Challenge is three books each month. I came VERY close in June, but didn’t quite get there.
Romanceopoly is a great challenge. I’ve really appreciated how it’s helped me read outside of my comfort zone. I also don’t make nearly enough time for it, something I need to do better at if I’m ever going to reach my goal.
July is the first month in ages where I have NOTHING on the calendar at the beginning of the month. Well, unless you count a hair appointment on the 21st. I’m hoping this lack of plans will allow me to get caught up on all the things — bookish, blogish and otherwise. And goodness knows the weather isn’t cooperating, so I’m spending plenty of time indoors. I shouldn’t have any excuse for not doing these things.
Now, onto the books!
July Book(s) I Need in My Life Immediately!
It’s always a good sign when you get advance copies of each of your highly anticipated books in any given month!
July releases I need to read immediately!
These upcoming releases are at the top of my TBR! Soon, my pretties, soon.
Book(s) YOU need in YOUR life immediately!
Ok, well the month has already started and this book is available, but I’m going to give it a shoutout regardless.
That’s a wrap! I hope you have a great month ahead!
