TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!
If you’ve been visiting my blog for awhile now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. It’s gone through a couple iterations now, but I’m pretty happy with where it’s landed.
NEW TO MY QUEUE
FAVORITE BOOK(S) OF THE WEEK
Can I tell you this was a really, really, really freaking amazing reading week? I can’t pick just one book as a favorite. So I’m breaking my rules and picking all four of them. ??♀️ The Friend Zone will undoubtedly be on my “best of 2019” list. This book is EVERYTHING. The Unhoneymooners was Christina Lauren at their best. Marriage for One was a delicious slow burn with a hero I fell SO in love with. And all the hype for Red, White & Royal Blue was spot on. It’s one of my new favorite m/m books. So many great reads.
THIS WEEK’S OBSESSION
I just heard this song for the first time today on The Highway while I was sitting in HORRENDOUS traffic trying to get out of DC for the weekend. It wrecked me. 1000%. But I could still listen to it on a loop for days and not get tired of it.
PIC(S) OF THE WEEK
If you don’t follow me on Instagram, you probably didn’t see my post about reading romance and why you should never, ever be ashamed of doing it. Truth be told, it’s been building for awhile as I’ve seen other romance fans’ posts about how they’re embarrassed to admit they love the genre. I had a #strongopinions day yesterday and decided it was time to say my piece about it all. The feedback on my post was AMAZING. I loved engaging with so many awesome women who love romance as much as I do. I’m thrilled to know I’m not alone.
THIS WEEK IN A NUTSHELL
This wasn’t a bad week all in all. As you saw above, it was filled with great reads and posts going mini-viral. ? I have a long weekend, which I’m spending in Pennsylvania. It’s sooooo nice to be out of DC for a few days. I know it’s not been all that long since my last long weekend, but I was definitely in need of another one. Tomorrow my mom and I are going to the Garth Brooks concert in Pittsburgh and I AM SO EXCITED. Garth has been on my bucket list since shortly after I turned down an offer to go to a show back in college with a dude I wasn’t all that into. (What were you thinking, past Kim?!) It should be a fun time. I fully intend to have no voice on Sunday. ?
How was your week?
