Ok, was it just me or did March fly by? I’m not sure how it’s April now, but hey… at least the weather will be warmer soon. That’s a good thing.
March was a super busy month. ApollyCon throws off my month so much, but it’s also my favorite weekend of the year so I can’t complain. Between prepping my stuff, doing all the things at work so I can really enjoy the long weekend and then actually participating in the event, it takes up most of my month. But it is so, so freaking worth it. Time spent with book friends is some of my favorite time. Yes it’s crazy busy and utterly exhausting, but I love (almost) every minute of it. It’s totally worth the money, time and wicked book weekend hangover that inevitably follows.
It was a pretty productive weekend, too. Check out that stack!
A huge thank you to the organizers, publishers and authors for making this such a great weekend. I’m already looking forward to next year!
I don’t have much else to say about March. I mean, I could go on and on about ApollyCon, but I don’t want to bore you. Overall, it was a decent reading month, even with my post-ApollyCon book hangover. I tackled that pretty quickly with Kennedy Ryan’s latest release, Hook Shot. Of course, the Tackle My TBR Q1 Readathon I hosted March 30-31 helped bump up my numbers a bit. After all, 24 hours of reading in 48 hours is a lot of reading — and a lot of awesome. And thanks to audiobooks, I was able to get some shit done around my apartment while reading. #winning
I should know better than to try to host any type of event in March because of the time ApollyCon takes, but apparently I didn’t learn that lesson. TBR March seemed like such a great idea at the time. But then I kinda forgot about it halfway through the month when my life got super busy. So, it’s basically not even worth talking about. ??♀️ I’m not going to beat myself up about it too badly though. I hope others had more success than I did!
If you want to know more about what’s going on in my world, follow me on Instagram. I have a bookish one (@kimberlyfayereads) and a non-bookish one (@kimberlyfaye_). On the bookish one, you’ll find… lots of books. (And story templates dealing with books!) On the non-bookish one, you’ll find the other side of my life… my cats, travels, etc.

2019 Tackle My TBR Challenge: March Check-In
Reading Challenges Update
First up, the Goodreads Reading Challenge! I didn’t snag a screenshot on the first day of April, so this one isn’t exactly accurate. It’s pretty close though. I’m pleased with my progress so far.
My goal for the 2019 Tackle My TBR is four books each month. As you can see, I exceeded that by quite a bit in March. Of course, I only reviewed two of the books I read, but I’ll get there… The topic for March was Unfinished series and I ticked that one off the list with Helena Hunting’s Pucked Over. Oh, and the Q1 Readathon was a success, with me reading 24 hours during the 48 hours of the readathon. I finished 5 books.
Total read: 17/48
Total reviewed: 4/48
This is my second year in a row doing an audiobook-focused challenge. My goal for the 2019 Audiobook Challenge is three books each month. I knocked it out of the park this month with six! Huzzah!
Romanceopoly is full of awesome and I need to give it more attention. I did get two reads done in March, one of which was the Mystery space challenge for Fated Mates. Oh, and I did my “Beanies” shelfie challenge, too.
I expected April to be a fairly chill month, but it’s been anything but so far. I know it’s usually March that comes “in like a lion,” but it’s April that’s been nuts so far. Thankfully I have a long weekend next weekend and I’m using it to get away from DC for a few days. I haven’t been home since Christmas and I’m long overdue. Plus, it’s WVU’s annual spring Gold and Blue Game and that’s been on my bucket list for years. So, I’m doing it. Other than that? I’ve got nothing going on and I’m thrilled.
Now, onto the books!
