They can't be together. They won't stay apart.
Marcus “Diesel” O’Shaughnessy is a brash, oversized CrossFit enthusiast with a naked lady tattooed on his rippling forearm. Jamie Prince is a private school teacher with an extremely low tolerance for bull. The two men have zero in common. Well, except for three things.
They’re both moonlighting as lifeguards for the summer.
No matter how hard they try, they cannot stay away from each other.
And both of them have secrets they’re determined to keep.
But what happens in the shadows of the Long Beach boardwalk can only remain hidden for so long, before the July sunshine reveals the hot, unrelenting connection they never expected, forcing Marcus and Jamie to decide if they’re simply caught up in a temporary heat stroke or if they’ve found something worth rescuing...

In Review: My Thoughts
Heat Stroke was an absolute joy to read. I’m not kidding when I say I read it in one sitting. I literally didn’t move from my couch until I finished it. I just couldn’t get enough of Marcus and Jamie.
I was intrigued by the chemistry between Marcus and Jamie in Mouth to Mouth. When I realized Heat Stroke was their book, I was ridiculously excited. I couldn’t wait until they were moved into the foreground. Plus, I love Tessa’s other M/M book and it’d been awhile since I read M/M so I was totally ready. I adored Jamie, but I love love LOVED Marcus. He was just so … SO. So sweet, so adorable, so kind-hearted, so real. So NOT what I imagined he was based on his appearance. I pretty much want to be his best friend.
I loved every little thing about Heat Stroke. From the growing romance between Marcus and Jamie to the secondary characters (mainly Jamie’s siblings), it was all perfection in my eyes. I’m loving this cast of characters so stinking much. Tessa delivered the laughs, swoons and MASSIVELY sexy times with this book. It’s a total gem. If you’re looking for your next favorite M/M read, look no further.
Don’t mind me, I’m just going to be over here chomping at the bit for Andrew and Jiya’s story. I don’t know what it will be called and I don’t know when it will be released, but I am here for it.
Those two signs were enough to know Marcus was peeking out of the closet and seeing a whole new, scary world. Jamie was not going to play his tour guide.
“You’ve never been anything but authentic. Never anyone but you. At least to me.”
“You can gay your own way, Marcus. Some people live louder than others, but that goes for straight people, too.”
“I wish… I wish I could stay. I wish so many things. But mostly I just wish for you.”
