Five Things Friday

TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!

If you’ve been visiting my blog for awhile now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. I was writing about a new topic each week, but honestly, that got kinda old. It was hard to come up with something new each week. You know what that means — it was time to mix things up a bit. So, my current iteration of FTF was born… with some inspiration from Brandie @ Running on Words & Wine.

FAVORITE BOOK OF THE WEEK

Kulti Mariana Zapata

Y’all know I’m obsessed with Mariana Zapata’s books, right? If not, now you do. After finishing my (9th, I think?) reread of The Wall of Winnipeg and Me, I decided I needed some Kulti in my life again. This was my 7th time reading this book and I think I love it even more each time. Sal and Rey are everything. I read this one via audiobook and it made my commute and part of my workday damn near blissful because I love this story so much.

WHEN I WASN’T READING

It wasn’t a good reading week for me. The combination of busy days at work and my new app obsession — Happy Color — left me very little reading time. I did color lots of photos on the app and I also started bingeing The Happy Place on Netflix though. Can’t complain about either of those things. Oh, and I got a massage, too. Definitely can’t complain about that. It wasn’t a bad week at all. Just a busy one. And next week is shaping up to be even busier!

PIC OF THE WEEK

One good thing about this time change? I get to actually enjoy the sunrises in the morning. I made it to my office in time to see the sky put on this gorgeous show yesterday morning. ?

LOOKING AHEAD

You know what’s almost here? APOLLYCON! Ahhhhhh! I think I ordered the last of my books last night. Think. I’m sure I’ll buy at least 3 more between now and next Thursday and grab a few more onsite during the signing. I’m so excited to see my friends and meet new bookish buds AND see some of my favorite authors again. It’ll be so much fun. I’m going to help with some prep this weekend, too, so that’ll keep me pretty busy. I wouldn’t expect much in the way of blog updates for the next week, but keep an eye on Instagram!
