Five Things Friday

TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!

If you’ve been visiting my blog for awhile now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. I was writing about a new topic each week, but honestly, that got kinda old. It was hard to come up with something new each week. You know what that means — it was time to mix things up a bit. So, my current iteration of FTF was born… with some inspiration from Brandie @ Running on Words & Wine.

FAVORITE BOOK OF THE WEEK

The Something About Her

Have I said a time or two just how much I love Rachel Higginson’s books? The Something About Her was the perfect conclusion to this series with characters I fell absolutely head over heels for. All the love for Vann and Dillon.

WHEN I WASN’T READING

This was a pretty blah week, all in all. I spent the weekend in a total funk — not just a book funk — after DNFing a highly-anticipated book from an author I adore. I swear, that book single-handedly f*cked up the first three days of my week. The last time I felt this way was when I read Allegiant years ago. But, moving on… Naturally since the weather has been so freaking awful, I’ve ended up with another sinus infection. I only made it to the office two days this week. And I missed out on dinner with one of my romance-reading friends, so I’m a little bitter. But, I’m on the mend now so yay.

LOOKING AHEAD

Since I’m still working on getting over this stupid sinus infection, I’m going to have another really low-key weekend. I have exactly zero plans and I’m happy with that. For now, anyhow. I’m sure I’ll get a little bit of cabin fever and have to get out and about at some point this weekend. Save for a trip to the grocery store and pharmacy, I’ve been in this apartment since Tuesday night. I’m starting to get a little twitchy. ?
