TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!
If you’ve been visiting my blog for awhile now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. I was writing about a new topic each week, but honestly, that got kinda old. It was hard to come up with something new each week. You know what that means — it was time to mix things up a bit. So, my current iteration of FTF was born… with some inspiration from Brandie @ Running on Words & Wine.
NEW TO MY QUEUE
FAVORITE BOOK OF THE WEEK
Ahhhh this was a joy to read. Gia and Bennett’s story was funny, sexy and totally swoony. What a way to close out this series, which I’ve been more or less obsessed with since I started it last year.
WHEN I WASN’T READING
I know this part is supposed to be about what I was doing when I wasn’t reading, but I feel like I need to brag that I FINALLY got back into a reading groove. It took a reread of my favorite book on my birthday, but it seems to have hit the reset button. I’ve read more this week than I have in ages. Other things that I’ve been doing? Working on a horrifically hard jigsaw puzzle, shopping, adulting and sleeping. I also had a really cool photography opportunity at the Washington National Cathedral on Wednesday. Of course, I had to remember how to use my “real” camera and tripod. ?
PIC OF THE WEEK
On Thursday, I had the chance to go to a special photographer-only session at Washington National Cathedral. It was awesome to get inside early in the morning and look for spots like this where the sunlight was casting light from the stained glass windows on the wall. It really was spectacular. This is one of my favorite shots. Click on it to go to my personal Instagram if you want to see some others I’ve uploaded. There are more to come, too!
Can we talk about how badly I need this three day weekend? I mean, I was only in the office three days last week but I was still super busy. This weekend, on the other hand, I have zero plans. I plan to make the most … er, least? … out of the whole time. I have a massage scheduled for tomorrow morning and then I think I’ll just lie around and read all day. Nothing wrong with that, right? I might go to the Library of Congress for their semi-annual open house on Monday. It depends on whether or not I want to be around people.
How was your week?
