TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!
If you’ve been visiting my blog for awhile now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. I was writing about a new topic each week, but honestly, that got kinda old. It was hard to come up with something new each week. You know what that means — it was time to mix things up a bit. So, my current iteration of FTF was born… with some inspiration from Brandie @ Running on Words & Wine.
NEW TO MY QUEUE
FAVORITE BOOK OF THE WEEK
Next Year in Havana isn’t my usual type of read, but it’s been on my TBR since before its release because I loved Chanel’s contemporary romance books. I finally picked this one up thanks to Romanceopoly. I’ve not finished it yet, but I’m loving it so much so far. The audio is fantastic, but I think I’m probably going to have to breakdown and read it since I’ll have limited audio time for the next week.
WHEN I WASN’T READING
This past week has been crazy busy. And it all started last weekend, in my not-so-relaxing weekend as I struggled to put my life (and apartment, specifically) back in order after Christmas. Taking down the Christmas tree, reorganizing my closets, deep cleaning, lots of laundry… it was a busy weekend. Then I hit the ground running with work the two days I was in the office, and on my work from home day. Got an awesome haircut on Wednesday night and headed to NOLA on Thursday. Made it, worked for awhile and then went to dinner with friends. Reading time? Pretty much just on the plane. ?
PIC OF THE WEEK
So I’ve still not read this book, but I love all the blue and gold plaid in this photo. It makes me smile.
Oh, the next few days are going to be … something. I’m in New Orleans, and while that probably sounds exciting, being here for work is somewhat less so. My organization’s big annual convention is this weekend through Tuesday. It’s a busy time of year normally, but this isn’t a normal year. A special guest is joining us to speak to our folks on Monday. POTUS. Send me strength, y’all. I’m gonna need it. But hey, at least I can find good food and alcohol when it’s all over. So that’s something.
How was your week?
