TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!
If you’ve been visiting my blog for awhile now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. I was writing about a new topic each week, but honestly, that got kinda old. It was hard to come up with something new each week. You know what that means — it was time to mix things up a bit. So, my current iteration of FTF was born… with some inspiration from Brandie @ Running on Words & Wine.
NEW TO MY QUEUE
FAVORITE BOOK OF THE WEEK
No one’s surprised I absolutely loved Karina Halle’s latest book, right? Nothing Personal was lighter than a lot of Karina’s contemporary romances, but that’s not a bad thing. Personally, I love her range. (And her recent less-angsty and complicated romances.) I adored Nova and Kessler. His son, Hunter, was also a cutie. I loved this swoony and sensual book.
WHEN I WASN’T READING
I’ve been on vacation for over a week now and I’ve lost all track of time. If not for WVU’s bowl game today, I’m not sure I’d even know today was Friday. ?? The struggle is real. Rather than recapping my week, I’m going to run down what I’ve done since I started vacation: drove home to PA, went shopping and out to lunch with my mom, had a family baking day, went to a WVU basketball game with my mom and a friend and her hubby, celebrated Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with family, went shopping again with my mom the day after Christmas (we’re insane) and bought a new Christmas tree for next year, watched a lot of football and relaxed.
PIC OF THE WEEK
Mom and I before the WVU basketball game started last Saturday. We’re a lot warmer in this photo than we were the last time we took a sporting event selfie back in November. ?
Since the weather seems like it’s going to cooperate, I have three more days in Pennsylvania before I head back home to Virginia. The next three days are all about football with a side of reading, if I have anything to say about it. WVU’s bowl game is today and I’m ready to watch some more Mountaineer football. (No I’m not.) Saturday brings the college football playoffs — and I still don’t know who I’m rooting for. There’s a big Steelers game on Sunday. The days should fly by pretty quickly. Once I get back to Virginia, I get to try to put my life (and apartment) back in order before I go back to work on January 2. Then I’m off again for a work trip to NOLA on January 8. Whew. This time of year is busy busy!
How was your week?
