So, December. How’d that happen? 2018 sure did fly right on by, didn’t it?
November was a pretty good month for me. I mean, aside from the plague I fought for a solid week and a half. The important part is I felt better in time to go on my Thanksgiving vacation. (And, most importantly, go to the WVU/Oklahoma game on Black Friday. Even if we didn’t win.) I had a great trip back to Pennsylvania. I hadn’t been home since June, so it was great to be back with my folks for a few days. Mom and I went shopping and to aforementioned WVU football game. (Also, tailgating.) Mom, Dad and I went to Pittsburgh for Thanksgiving dinner with family. We also decorated the Christmas tree and put the outside decorations up. It was a much-needed trip home.
As far as the bookish side of things go, I did better in November than in October. Still a little below my average from earlier in the year, but I’m not going to complain. Plus, I read some great books and knocked a few off my TBR. I discovered the awesomeness that is Read Me Romance. If you like romance and audiobooks and, you know, free stuff, you need to check this podcast out. It’s so much fun. These ladies and the audiobooks brighten my commute on the daily. I was a little less active on bookstagram this month, too, but I think that’s because I burned myself out with 2 posts a day in October. Bad, bad idea. ?
If you want to know more about what’s going on in my world, follow me on Instagram. I have a bookish one (@kimberlyfayereads) and a non-bookish one (@kimberlyfaye_). On the bookish one, you’ll find… lots of books. (And story templates dealing with books!) On the non-bookish one, you’ll find the other side of my life… my cats, travels, etc.
Now, here’s the breakdown of my month of reading/blogging.

Reading Challenges Update
First up, the Goodreads Reading Challenge! I started off strong and kinda failed later in the year, but I totally expected that to happen. October and November are rarely strong reading months for me. Too many other distractions. The good news is, I had a nice cushion going into the end of the year and I think I’ll be able to pull this out. Unless anything crazy happens. But let’s hope nothing crazy happens, ok?
My goal for the Tackle My TBR is three books each month. I read FIVE in March. (And I reviewed more than half of them!)
The 2018 Audiobook Challenge is a new one for me this year and, thanks to Read Me Romance, I exceeded my goal this month! (And my goal for the year!) I’m not even going to stop and question if novella audiobooks count. They do.
As I said last month, I’ve decided I’m just going to call it quits on the Ultimate Reading Challenge. I feel like this one was doomed from the start since I got a late start on it. Definitely not knocking the challenge. It’s a good one! If they do it again in 2019, I’ll sign up and start off stronger.
It doesn’t even matter that I just got home from my Thanksgiving vacation less than a week ago… I’m ready to go back again. So yeah, I’m looking forward to Christmas vacation. Of course, I have a lot of work — and shopping — to do before then. I should probably get on that… Other than that? I’m looking forward to maybe getting some holiday lights photos around DC. If I can motivate myself, that is.
Now, onto the books!
