TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!
If you’ve been visiting my blog for awhile now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. I was writing about a new topic each week, but honestly, that got kinda old. It was hard to come up with something new each week. You know what that means — it was time to mix things up a bit. So, my current iteration of FTF was born… with some inspiration from Brandie @ Running on Words & Wine.
NEW TO MY QUEUE
FAVORITE BOOK OF THE WEEK
Anyone surprised that I totally loved Fireworks? Nah? Me either. Sarina is one of my favorite authors for a reason. This book with its beautiful and sexy second chance romance and edge-of-your-seat suspense was perfection. Loved it.
WHEN I WASN’T READING
Man, this week was something else. The cold from hell is going around, apparently, and I came down with it Saturday night. I’m still not back to 100%. This thing was brutal, with one of the sorest throats I’ve ever had outside of strep, insane head congestion and eventually a cough. I swear, I’ve gone through a full box of cold medicine and 3 boxes of tissues since Sunday. Obviously I didn’t get into much. I mean, I barely got off my couch. I watched some football and some Netflix and obviously I made some reading time. Yay for relaxing, but if I could’ve done it without dealing with the plague it would’ve been great. This has been miserable.
PIC OF THE WEEK
I put this photo together to highlight one of my favorite new adult series for a bookstagram challenge. It’s so autumnal and cozy and it just makes me happy when I see it.
It feels weird celebrating a week (+) off work since, you know, I was only in the office for a few days this past week. With the holiday Monday and this awful plague I can’t quite seem to shake, I only worked a short day on Wednesday. I mean, I worked from home most of Tuesday and all of Thursday, but still. All that said, as of 3:45 today I’m officially on vacation and I don’t return to the office until Tuesday, Nov. 27. I can’t wait to get out of town for a few days. It’ll be fantastic to see my folks and spend some time with them. Of course, I’m looking forward to (some parts) of Thanksgiving. AND I’m going to the WVU/Oklahoma game on Black Friday and I CAN’T WAIT. I’m gonna freeze my ass off, but I’m so excited.
How was your week?
