October is over and November is here and I can’t help but wonder where the time is going?! While I can’t answer that question, I can talk about how my month went in the latest That’s a Wrap recap.
The theme of October was all things ARCs. Or, ARCtober, if you will. If you saw my challenge wrap-up, you’ll know I didn’t meet my goal of 12 ARCs. I only knocked out 10 — but I had some great reading, so I’m not going to complain. All the ARC things also extended to my bookstagram account, where I featured ARCs — new and old — every day throughout the month. *wipes brow* It was pretty intense. ?
Other than that, October was all about football. Which is why I didn’t get nearly as much reading done as I should have. It happens every year. I should know better by now. I also hit up a couple used book stores and library sales and added quite a few new books to my shelves. Am I the only one who adds like 4 books to their shelves for every one they’ve read? The struggle is so real. Perhaps the most exciting thing that happened last month was getting to meet two of my bookstagram buddies in real life. It was awesome to meet up with Brittany and Teresa! If you’re not following these ladies, you’re missing out.
It was a good month, if a mostly uneventful one. Sometimes it’s nice to have those, right?
If you want to know more about what’s going on in my world, follow me on Instagram. I have a bookish one (@kimberlyfayereads) and a non-bookish one (@kimberlyfaye_). On the bookish one, you’ll find… lots of books. (And story templates dealing with books!) On the non-bookish one, you’ll find the other side of my life… my cats, travels, etc.
Now, here’s the breakdown of my month of reading/blogging.

- Young adult: 1
- New adult: 2

Reading Challenges Update
First up, the Goodreads Reading Challenge! Can I just say it’s a good thing I was a reading machine earlier this year? I’m not sure what it is about October that causes me to absolutely suck at all things reading and blogging, but I’m still running ahead so I’m not going to complain.
My goal for the Tackle My TBR is three books each month. I read FOUR in October!
Well, I didn’t meet my 2018 Audiobook Challenge goal of two audiobooks in October. I came very, very close though… I’m confident I can catch up though. Do I get bonus points for actually reviewing the one I did read? Also because I’m ahead? ?
I’ve decided I’m just going to call it quits on the Ultimate Reading Challenge. I feel like this one was doomed from the start since I got a late start on it. Definitely not knocking the challenge. It’s a good one! If they do it again in 2019, I’ll sign up and start off stronger.
As far as bookish things go, I’m excited to be teaming up with some of my favorite bookstagrammers for the Slay Those Series Reading Challenge! I’m keeping my goal low because, well, I’m just off one monthly challenge and I don’t think I have the energy to go at it hard again this month. ?
Of course, Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I’m taking an entire week off to spend with my family. I can’t wait. Also, my mom and I are going to the WVU/Oklahoma game the day after Thanksgiving! I’m equal parts excited and scared. It could be a crazy game. I’ll probably drink. A lot.
Now, onto the books!
