Five Things Friday

TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!

If you’ve been visiting my blog for awhile now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. I was writing about a new topic each week, but honestly, that got kinda old. It was hard to come up with something new each week. You know what that means — it was time to mix things up a bit. So, my current iteration of FTF was born… with some inspiration from Brandie @ Running on Words & Wine.

FAVORITE BOOK OF THE WEEK

Wicked Heart

I read Wicked Heart as part of my ARCtober Reading Challenge and I absolutely loved it. It was a total one-sitting type of read. I laughed, cried and swooned. Liss and Liam’s second chance was everything I didn’t know I needed last night. Perfection.

WHEN I WASN’T READING

This week was absolutely exhausting. We basically went straight from summer to early winter and I’m having a hard time adjusting. I love the cooler temps, I just was hoping we could ease into it. But, that’s not what happens here in DC. Hey, it’s still better than the heat and humidity of summer. I’ll adjust to the whole getting dark earlier thing. More reading time, right? 😂 Work was stressful. I’ve been rather unmotivated to do… well, anything. I didn’t even really do that much reading. Is it too early for Seasonal Affective Disorder? Only half joking.

PIC OF THE WEEK

My #bookstagram feed has gone full fall and I’m not even sorry about it. This is one of my favorites. I love fall. 🍁🍂

LOOKING AHEAD

If I can be totally honest, I’m just looking forward to 3:30 this afternoon. It’s been A WEEK at work and I’m ready to be done with it. I have no big plans this weekend. Neither of my football teams are playing. Oh but don’t worry, I’ll still be watching football. It just won’t be a particularly stressful experience like it is any other weekend. I have to do the usual weekend things — meal planning, grocery shopping (or, uh, ordering online for delivery more likely), bookstagram photoing and other adulting — but other than that? I can do whatever I want. There’s an event at a local bookstore I think I’m going to try to hit on Sunday, but if I can’t get motivated to get there… I’m not going to stress about it.
