That’s a Wrap: September 2018

That's a Wrap

Hey hey, it’s October! I’m feeling pretty on the ball since I’m actually posting my September wrap up on the first day of the month. I can’t tell you the last time that happened.

September was a pretty decent month, even if I didn’t spend as much time reading as I have in past months. It’s the most wonderful time of the year — football season — and that takes precedence over just about everything else. (Especially when my Mountaineers or Steelers are playing.) I feel like I’ve not been giving my little blog the love and attention it needs, but I’ve been pretty busy over on Instagram. And as far as the non-blogging/non-bookish life goes, there’s not much to report there either. Like I said, football. And one road trip to Pennsylvania, but it was for work, not for fun.

If you want to know more about what’s going on in my world, follow me on Instagram. I have a bookish one (@kimberlyfayereads) and a non-bookish one (@kimberlyfaye_). On the bookish one, you’ll find… lots of books. (And story templates dealing with books!) On the non-bookish one, you’ll find the other side of my life… my cats, travels, etc.

Now, here’s the breakdown of my month of reading/blogging.

  • Total number of books read: 14
    • Young adult: 3
    • New adult: 1
    • Adult: 10
  • New-to-me authors: 1
  • Re-reads: 3
  • Reviews posted: 12
  • Discussion posts: 0

Reading Challenges Update

First up, the Goodreads Reading Challenge! I didn’t snag a screenshot on the first day of April, so this one isn’t exactly accurate. I’ve read several books so far in April, but I was on track at the end of March. Promise. Ha! (And woo hoo for being this far ahead! Seriously!)

My goal for the Tackle My TBR is three books each month. I read SIX in September. (And I even reviewed a few of them!)

Total: 61/36

One Night One King's Way Hard Compromise Save the Date  True Blue Cowboy

The 2018 Audiobook Challenge is a new one for me this year and I just barely snuck in the second one in September. I literally finished it about 7:00 PM on September 30. *wipes brow*

Total: 20/24

The Golden Lily The Indigo Spell

The Ultimate Reading Challenge was a late addition to my 2018 reading challenges, and I’ve had a tough time keeping up with it ever since. I did knock out August’s prompt for “on your TBR for a long time” in September. But, I still need to do June’s “Book to Movie Adaptation” and September’s “A genre that will take you out of your comfort zone.” Guess I’ll add that to the list of things to read in October!

Looking Ahead

October is more of the same — football, photos and reading. I’m so looking forward to the cooler temperatures and changing leaves. (And football, of course.) I’m thinking about a trip home to PA to see my folks some weekend, but I haven’t decided for sure yet. I haven’t been home since July and it’d be nice to go before Thanksgiving. On the bookish front, with October also comes the new and improved ARCtober Reading Challenge AND the ARCtober2018 Bookstagram Challenge! I hope you’ll check both out and join us in one or both!

Now, onto the books!

October Book(s) I Need in My Life Immediately!

Some of my most-anticipated book(s) of the month… or the one(s) I haven’t received an early copy of, anyhow. 🙂

Trailer Park Heart

October releases I need to read immediately!

These upcoming releases are at the top of my TBR! Soon, my pretties, soon.

The Darkest Star Consumed Big Bad Cowboy Love, Sincerely, Yours

Book(s) YOU need in YOUR life immediately!

I’ve been so busy mood-reading that I’ve only read one October release early, but it was a really good one.

 Fight or Flight

That’s a wrap! I hope you have a great month ahead!

  1. Oh man, you are doing so well with your reading for the year! I haven’t been reading as much as I have the last couple years, which is frustrating. But I did just purchase a copy of Nordic King and I’m excited to read it. I hope it isn’t too angsty. But I love modern royalty romances.
