Five Things Friday

TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!

If you’ve been visiting my blog for awhile now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. I was writing about a new topic each week, but honestly, that got kinda old. It was hard to come up with something new each week. You know what that means — it was time to mix things up a bit. So, my current iteration of FTF was born… with some inspiration from Brandie @ Running on Words & Wine.

FAVORITE BOOK OF THE WEEK

Kiss the Girl

I’ve not finished Kiss the Girl because I’m totally savoring it, but I’m head over heels. I freaking love this series and I’ve been waiting on Ariel’s story since I met her in the first book. (Not that I didn’t love Cindy and Belle’s stories!) It’s living up to every single one of my expectations.

WHEN I WASN’T READING

I had a long weekend last weekend, which made for a short week, but it was still a busy one. Or at least a busy Tuesday and Wednesday at work. Thursday was my company’s summer outing and we went on a lunch cruise along the Potomac River. THAT was an experience. Don’t get me wrong, I had fun. But with a lunch buffet, cash bar and deejay, it felt like a floating wedding reception in broad daylight. 😂 Beyond that? I didn’t get into much.

PIC OF THE WEEK

Every now and then, a bookstagram photo comes together in a way I just fall in love with. This photo is one of those.

LOOKING AHEAD

The weekend is almost here! Can I tell you how excited I am? Do I have anything big planned? Nope. I just need a reset after a busy week. I think it’s going to rain for a good portion of the weekend — again — so I’m not sure I’ll be able to find any outdoors time, but I’m going to try. With our monsoon season, I was trapped inside nearly all weekend last weekend. I love my apartment but I have to get out, too.
