TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!
If you’ve been visiting my blog for awhile now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. I was writing about a new topic each week, but honestly, that got kinda old. It was hard to come up with something new each week. You know what that means — it was time to mix things up a bit. So, my current iteration of FTF was born… with some inspiration from Brandie @ Running on Words & Wine.
NEW TO MY QUEUE
FAVORITE BOOK(S) OF THE WEEK
I loved both The Fragile Ordinary and Tough Luck Cowboy in different ways. I didn’t get a lot of reading done this week while I was on vacation, but I’ll take quality over quantity any day.
WHEN I WASN’T READING
If I thought I’d get a lot of reading done during my vacation, I was clearly mistaken. I’m not really even sorry about it either. I had a great vacation! It started off with a road trip back to Pennsylvania and a day of shopping with my mom on Friday. On Saturday, I headed off to meet my girls in Pittsburgh for the Sam Hunt/Luke Bryan concert. Well, it was so disgustingly hot and gross that we didn’t even stay for Luke. We wanted to check Sam off our bucket list, and we did, and since we’d already seen Luke in concert a couple years ago, we headed back to the hotel early for air conditioning, showers, wine, chatting and pizza. I regret nothing. Beyond that, it was a pretty chill trip — some cooking out, a casino trip with my mom, grandma and aunt, a couple meals out, some more shopping and a lot of front porch and air conditioning time. Oh, and fireworks, naturally. It was a great trip.
PIC OF THE WEEK
Does it look like we’re melting? Because we were absolutely melting after a (nearly) mile walk in temperatures that were close to 100º with the humidity. Love these ladies! I’m already counting down until next March, when we’ll see each other again.
This weekend will be spent recovering from vacation and putting my life back together — unpacking, laundry, meal planning… all the adulting. I also need to finalize my blogiversary giveaway. Good times! Other than that, I’ve got nothing. There *might* be some outdoors time, but it depends on what the forecast says. If it’s anything like what I survived the last few days in Pennsylvania, I’ll be in full-on hibernation mode.
How was your week?
