Everyone’s impressed, well except one person…
After a blow out in high school, Makenna Halstead and I were happy to never have to cross paths again. Except life has a way of knocking you straight in the teeth with a puck when you least expect it. She hasn’t just returned to my life, she crashed into it like a wrecking ball...into my college kingdom, into my class, and smack dab into the seat next to mine. My new lab partner to be exact.
For years we hated each other... I may be King on the ice, but she is the Ice Queen. She has no problem calling me out, doesn’t back down, and her piercing blue eyes have me picturing more than than just my arms wrapped around her.
Now we’re stuck with each other and there’s no getting around that fact that we have to work together. My hockey career hangs in the balance. Problem? Oh, yeah.
I can’t deny it. I want her. More than I ever thought I could want a woman. I’ve got one semester–only four months–to convince her everything she thought about me was wrong.
Will my queen let me prove to her I’m the King she can’t live without?
Only one way to find out...
Is there anything better than finding a total gem of a book from a new-to-you author? I think not. I’d originally missed Maya’s email when she sent it a couple weeks back, but I was thrilled to discover the pitch late last week. I’ve seen this book cover all over the place and it sounded great. Little did I know there was a copy in my inbox just waiting for me! I just happen to be in a huge hockey mood — wonder why, since you know, I live in DC — so I dove right in. I loved every little thing about it. I can’t wait for more of the Kings of Rittenhouse!
I’m borderline obsessed with this song right now, I can’t even lie. It gives me so many feels.
What gave me life and took my breath away?
Did I take a last-call stranger home
So I wouldn’t have to wake up alone?
I feel like a child, son
But I really don’t recall
Heard I was a fast one
Always was last one
Waitin’ for the other shoe to fall
I’ve seen pictures
And I’ve heard stories
‘Bout the boy I used to be
But I don’t remember me
Man I am losing so much Yinzer cred for saying this and sharing this video. But I can’t lie, I’m really enjoying all the Caps victory tour celebration videos. I wonder if any of the guys have been sober since the win last Thursday…
