Oh hi, June. You kinda snuck up on me. Man, this year is flying by! Well, guess it’s time for the May edition of That’s a Wrap.
I didn’t do a whole lot in May, save for one trip home to Pennsylvania, but my focus for the month was getting back on track. From the reading and blogging — where I FINALLY got caught up on reviews — to life in general with chores and the gym, I spent a lot of time trying to get into some type of consistent routine. I can’t say I was 100% successful, but progress was made.
On the reading front, I can say I had a very successful month. I might not have read as many books as I typically might, but the ones I read were wonderful. Everything was 4 and 5 star reads, so I definitely can’t complain about that. Since I’m spending more time at the gym, I’m getting more audiobook time, too, and I’m really enjoying that. I read several books that’ve been languishing on my TBR for awhile now and I’m kicking myself for waiting so long because they were so good!
Oh, fun thing about June? I’m celebrating my FIFTH blogiversary. That’s right, y’all, I’ve been blogging for almost five years now. Utter craziness. I’m a little late getting to the blogiversary celebration, but it’s coming (hopefully on the 15th). If you’re an author or blogger who would like to donate a prize to the giveaway, you can find out details here.
If you want to know more about what’s going on in my world, follow me on Instagram. I have a bookish one (@kimberlyfayereads) and a non-bookish one (@kimberlyfaye_). On the bookish one, you’ll find … lots of books. (And story templates dealing with books!) On the non-bookish one, you’ll find the other side of my life … my cats, travels, etc.
Now, here’s the breakdown of my month of reading/blogging.
- Total number of books read: 15
- New adult: 3
- Adult: 12
- Reviews posted: 27 (!!!!!)
- Discussion posts: 1 (ish)
I had so many 5 star reads this month it was VERY tough to narrow this down.

Reading Challenges Update
First up, the Goodreads Reading Challenge! Ok, so I lost a little ground in May, but I am not going to complain a bit. Being nine books ahead of schedule halfway into the year definitely isn’t a bad thing!
My goal for the Tackle My TBR is three books each month. I read SEVEN in March. (And I reviewed ALL of them.) Goal status: achieved.
The 2018 Audiobook Challenge is a new one for me this year. My goal is two each month. I read three in May! Huzzah!
The Ultimate Reading Challenge was a late addition to my 2018 reading challenges, but I’ve been slacking on it. My goal for June is to get caught up on April and May’s prompts, as well as do June’s of course. Fingers crossed!
I’m looking forward to June. I just hope it stops raining soon. I feel like I live in the Pacific Northwest. Except, you know, it’s not just rain… it’s rain and thunderstorms. Blah. I’d like to enjoy part of the summer, please and thank you, and I can’t do my favorite things when it’s raining and/or storming every weekend. Nothing big planned for most of June. I’m just going to take the days as they come. BUT, I do have a trip home planned for the last weekend. My friends from Ohio and the other side of Pennsylvania are meeting me in Pittsburgh to see Luke Bryan and Sam Hunt at Heinz Field. There’s a whole lot of awesome in that sentence. 🙌🙌 I’m extending that trip a few more days and staying home for the 4th of July, too.
Now, onto the books!
