Five Things Friday

TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!

If you’ve been visiting my blog for awhile now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. I was writing about a new topic each week, but honestly, that got kinda old. It was hard to come up with something new each week. You know what that means — it was time to mix things up a bit. So, my current iteration of FTF was born… with some inspiration from Brandie @ Running on Words & Wine.

One and Only At the Stroke of Midnight

I just couldn’t pick between the two of these, so I decided to just show off both of them. One and Only was so sweet and swoony, with a hero who took a little time to grow on me and a heroine I loved from the start. It was also super sexy and punched me in the feels just a bit, too. At the Stroke of Midnight was freaking hilarious. It’s also my first Tara Sivec book. (It won’t be my last.) Struggling financially after her piece of shit husband left her for the babysitter, housewife Cindy and her new friends Ariel (the fiery redheaded antique dealer) and Isabella (the smart and shy librarian who lives at home with her father) decide to start an exotic dancer service with a princess theme. I howled during this one. What a fun take on the Disney Princesses. I’ll be starting book two very soon.

I spent last weekend doing not a whole lot of anything outside of my apartment and I was totally ok with that. I was still struggling to put my life back together after ApollyCon and ultimately winding up sick after said event. The highlight of this past week was staying at Inn Boonsboro for a special event they were having with Mariana Zapata. I’d never been to the Inn or, if I’m being honest, anywhere in Boonsboro that wasn’t Sheetz on my way through on the trip to or from PA. What a delightful little town! And the Inn was amazing. If you ever want a unique escape, check it out. It’s worth every single penny. The event with Mariana was super chill and it was great to chat with her — and get the rest of my books signed, obviously. Total blast. I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Trust me when I say I’ll be stalking the Inn’s schedule to see which authors they have coming next!

I’m having an indecisive kind of day, so I’m sharing two favorite photos this week, too. I had to share some cherry blossom love, right? And I definitely couldn’t go all the way to Boonsboro, MD and see Mariana without sharing proof. (Even if it’s so not my favorite photo of myself.)

I think spring is finally here and I’m probably going to try to get outside and enjoy it a bit this weekend. It’s been a long time coming. I don’t have any set plans, but I’m thinking some coffee, reading outside and maybe a bit of Pokémon-ing.

Let’s Chat

How was your week?
