Five Things Friday

TGIF, y’all! I’m so happy it’s Friday and that I get to share my mini weekly recap with you. Keep reading to see some of my new books and what was keeping me busy this week!

If you’ve been visiting my blog for awhile now, you might know that Five Things Friday was born out of a desire to include more of ME on my blog. I was writing about a new topic each week, but honestly, that got kinda old. It was hard to come up with something new each week. You know what that means — it was time to mix things up a bit. So, my current iteration of FTF was born… with some inspiration from Brandie @ Running on Words & Wine.

I’m changing the rules up this week and picking more than one book as my favorite. It’s not fair to choose because I had an amazing reading week. So, these were my favorites.

WHEN I WASN’T READING

This past week was not my best week. I chilled over the weekend because I was afraid I might be getting sick again. (Spoiler alert: I was.) I worked Monday and for about an hour on Thursday. (Here’s hoping I can make it through a full day on Friday.) I basically slept and watched Netflix. Oh, and I got the flu shot. Woo. Super exciting week, as you can see.

PIC OF THE WEEK

CityCenterDC is one of my favorite non-memorial/monument photo spots in DC. The decorations change every few months and I have this burning desire to catalog all of them.

LOOKING AHEAD

All I can say is I hope February is a better month health-wise than January was. I had the usual post-convention funk when I got back from convention mid-month. What I didn’t expect was to get sick a second time over this past week. I think I’m finally starting to feel better, but I’m not going to push myself too hard. I don’t want to miss any more work! That said, I figure this weekend will bring lots of indoor time — reading, watching movies and, of course, the Super Bowl.

  1. I’m so sorry you got sick again!! I’m worried we’re getting again in our house. This back and forth weather is killing me. I hope you have a good, relaxing weekend and feel better!! And hopefully you get through this day quickly.
