That’s a Wrap: December 2017

That's a Wrap

Oh hey, 2018. Fancy meeting you here.

As is often the case, December was a stupid busy month between work and the holidays. My reading was way down in comparison to the rest of the year, but I read some really good books — and reread a couple favorites just because I felt like it. I blame Hallmark Christmas movies for taking the bulk of my usual reading time. Well, that and the fact that so much was going on at work early this month I was basically a zombie by the time I got home so the last thing I wanted to do was try to focus on reading.

While it’s true 2017 was a dumpster fire in a lot of ways, I can’t really complain that much personally. So, I’m calling it — and December — a success.

If you want to know more about what’s going on in my world, follow me on Instagram. There you will find pics of my books, my cats, my outfits of the day and all the other photos I take during my travels around DC and elsewhere. I’m also on Snapchat, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Now, here’s the breakdown of my month of reading/blogging.

  • Total number of books read: 14
    • Young Adult: 0
    • New adult: 3
    • Adult: 11
    • Historical Romance: 0
  • Reviews posted: 14
  • Discussion posts: 7 (if you count my Top 10 of 2017 posts, which I do)

Top Reads

*Ok, two of these are rereads, but I couldn’t leave them off.

Reading Challenges Update

Full disclosure: I changed my goal sometime in December in order to put less pressure on myself. That’s probably cheating, but oh well.

My goal for the Rock My TBR Challenge is two books each month. This month I read THREE.

I Will Lisa Kleypas Claiming Serenity Eden Butler Max Sawyer Bennett

Looking Ahead

I’m heading to (fake) Nashville for work in a couple of days and I have SO MUCH to do before I leave. Why do I say “fake” Nashville? We’re actually staying at the Gaylord and the meeting is there, too, so it’s unlikely I’ll see any part of actual Nashville. Which does make me really sad because I LOVE Nashville. But, before my flight on Thursday afternoon I have to take down my Christmas tree so the cats don’t destroy it while I’m out of town. I also have to pack. But first, I have to UNpack from my Christmas trip. Truth be told, I’m just ready to get this trip behind me so I can get back into a routine and get my life back in order.

Now, onto the books!

January Book(s) I Need in My Life Immediately!

This month is one of those rare instances in which I received review copies of EVERY book I was excited about. Woo!

January releases I need to read immediately!

These upcoming releases are at the top of my TBR! Soon, my pretties, soon.

About That Kiss Indecent Exposure Moonlight Sins Jennifer L. Armentrout The Wedding Date

Book(s) YOU need in YOUR life immediately!

I’ve only read a couple January releases so far, but they’re both fantastic and deserve a spot on your TBR.

Three Blind Dates Meghan Quinn Keep Her Safe K.A. Tucker

That’s all for now! I hope you have a great month!

EEEEK…Wall of Winnipeg and Kulti!! Love it. They are my top reads for sure. Along with Locke! Sigh! Yeah.
Thanks for the awesome recommendations. Your posts always bring a smile to my face.

  2. It looks like you had a great December and yeah those Hallmark Christmas movies do take time away from reading and all the end of year posts that us bloggers are busy with right?

But I am excited to start a new year off, 2017 was way too stressful. But I was able to read some great books in December and made most of my goals.

Hope you have a wonderful New Years Day!!! And be safe on your trip.
