Top 10 of 2017

For the last few years, I’ve been doing one of these “best of” the year series of posts as a way to tip my hat to the best of the best of the past year … and begin looking forward to the new year, as well. I love looking back and picking out my favorites and thought it would be fun to open it up for others to join. So … I’ll be doing that from now until the end of December. Interested in joining? Check out the sign-up post.

Now that I’ve fully recapped my Top 10 of 2017, it’s time to look forward to those 2018 titles. Here are the ones I’m most excited about reading in the new year!

The bonus content fun continues today with Brighton Walsh. Y’all, if you read romance and you’re not reading her books you need to reevaluate your life. They’re the best. When I started putting together the schedule for this event, I reached out to her and asked if she would like to join. She agreed to not only share some of the books SHE is most looking forward to in 2018, but to share the blurb for her upcoming book, Charming Bastard. Which, you know, just happens to be one of MY most anticipated books for 2018!

From Lukov with Love Mariana Zapata

Two lines of text and a cover with Mariana Zapata’s name on it and I already have total grabby hands for this book.

Charming Bastard doesn’t have a cover or a Goodreads entry yet, but I NEED THIS BOOK IN MY LIFE. Brighton was awesome enough to agree to share the never before seen blurb with me as part of today’s post, too! Keeeeeeep scrolling to read it! *flails*

Marriage of Inconvenience Penny Reid

Goodreads | Amazon

I’ve been waiting for Kat and Dan’s story FOR FREAKING AGES. I can’t get my paws on it soon enough.

Sierra Simone’s writing is amazing. I can’t wait to see what she does with this book.

TRIP T Torrest

I am so excited to revisit Trip and Layla, but this time see the events from Trip’s POV. Eeeeep!

The Coaching Hours Sara Ney

After falling in love with this series in 2017, I hoped there would be more to it. Thankfully there will be in 2018. I can’t wait!

The Kiss Quotient Helen Hoang

Goodreads | Amazon

I’ve had my eye on this book for ages. It just sounds so good and unique. Plus, one of my favorite authors mentored Helen so I know I can’t go wrong.

Love and Other Words Christina Lauren

Goodreads | Amazon

I’m not even sure how to put my feelings for Gabriel into words. He was truly unique and special — as was this book. I can’t say much more without risking giving away this story, but he’s gentle and nurturing and just flat out incredible.

Goodreads | Amazon

Nate and Becca’s book! Nate and Becca’s book! OMG I CANNOT WAIT.

Restore Me

Goodreads | Amazon

Man oh man, I didn’t even know this book was coming until I was trolling Goodreads for this post. I’m equal parts ecstatic and terrified this series is continuing.

Bonus Content

Now that I’ve talked about the books I’m excited for in 2018, let’s take a look at Brighton’s.

The Kiss Quotient Helen Hoang

I had the pleasure of reading and working on this with Helen wayyyyyy back in 2016 when she entered it into PitchWars. With an amazing, diverse cast of characters and Helen’s easy humor woven throughout, this #ownvoices romance is going to be a knockout and one you definitely wanna have on your TBR list!

Starry Eyes

I fell in love with Jenn’s writing in THE ANATOMICAL SHAPE OF A HEART. So. Many. Swoons. From STARRY EYES’ blurb, it looks like much of the same is on the docket. I mean, abandoned in the wilderness with the boy who broke her heart? Enemies to lovers and second chance romance all rolled into one? GIMME.

Indecent Exposure

Tessa’s an auto-buy author for me, because I know I’m guaranteed amazing sexy times and a hero who dirty talks like a boss. And considering my favorite series of hers has been her other New Adult, I’m all over these books. Plus, police officer recruit? YES, PLEASE.

Are you ready for the blurb from Brighton Walsh’s upcoming book, Charming Bastard? Eeeep!

Willow Haven’s content. Okay, that’s a lie, but she has been trying her damndest. Trouble is, it never sticks. Second oldest in a family her town was named after, she’s always felt the pressure. From the townspeople, from her sisters, but most of all from her daddy—the original Good Old Boy and Havenbrook’s reigning mayor. The only time she didn’t feel that stress had been those blissful months spent in the arms of the resident bad boy. The same one who broke her heart beyond repair when he left without a word.

Life hasn’t come easy for Finn Thomas. He’s had to claw and fight for everything he’s ever had—and truth be told, it hasn’t been much. He spent the first eighteen years of his life living so far from the wrong side of the tracks, he couldn’t even see them through his trailer window. The only thing that ever came easy for him and made his sorry ass happy was the one girl he loved with all his heart. And the one thing he had no choice but to leave behind.

When an opportunity arises to return to his tiny, southern hometown and open the first bar in a formerly dry county, he jumps at the chance. That won’t win him points with the mayor, who’s hell bent on making Finn’s life a nightmare for sullying his namesake. But too bad for Mayor Haven, Finn’s got his sights set on more than just the town, and this time he won’t be scared off quite so easily.

How freaking amazing does this sound? Between the blurb and the teasers Brighton’s posted in her Facebook reader group, I have the biggest case of grabby hands EVER.
