Sometimes inspiration strikes at weird times, as evident by my idea for an October reading event focused on all those ARCs I have sitting around unread. I’m a sucker for ARC-related reading events (like the spectacular ARC August) and I never hesitate to sign up for them. There didn’t seem to be anything for October AND I kinda love the play on words of ARC-tober, so I just had to do it.
Of course, this idea hit me on September 30 (a little late there, brain), so there wasn’t time to fully flesh out the idea or promote it, but I’m still opening it up to others who might be interested. I’d love to have you join me if it sounds like something you’d enjoy! Next year I’ll get my self together and do more with this event. I have lots of ideas… I just need time to pull them off.
There’s only one rule for ARC-tober — read ARCs. As many as you want. They can be older ones that you haven’t read for one reason or another OR newer ones for books that haven’t yet released. Print, ebook and audio all count. Just read them. 🙂 If you want to post on social media about your reading, use #ARCtober. I’ll be posting a weekly update here on the blog, but that’s not required. You can look for it next Sunday if you’re interested in following my progress though.
My main goal is pretty simple — read 15 ARCs in October. My secondary goal would be to *actually* write reviews for said ARCs before the end of the month.
As always, this list is subject to change — and it probably will. These are a few of the titles I’d like to cross off my list during ARC-tober though. Some are newer titles, others have been sitting on my TBR for awhile.
I have a month of what should be some darn good ARC reading ahead of me. I’m excited to start! I’ll see you next week this time for my first weekly update.
Does ARC-tober sound like something you need in your life?
