Summer Lovin' Book Tag

I’ve been on a book tag kick lately, so when I saw this one over at Christy’s Love of Books, I thought “Well, why not?” She saw it from a friend who saw it at Richard’s Book Nook on YouTube. I’m not sure if he created it or not, but there you go!

And here I go!

Start of Summer:
Attention-grabbing first sentence

“I was going to murder his ass. One day. One day long after I quit, so no one would suspect me.”

The Wall of Winnipeg and Me Mariana Zapata

The Wall of Winnipeg and Me is one of my favorite books of the year so far and one that I will reread forever — I mean, I’ve already ready it three times this year. (And I’m due for another reread soon.) This book makes my heart happy. It’s definitely an all-time favorite.

Too Hot to Go Outside:
Perfect for a day in

The Difference Between Us Opposites Attract Rachel Higginson

I mean, I could pick literally any book for this because I tend to hibernate when it’s as blasted hot as it is right now. Instead, I’ll pick my latest read, The Difference Between Us, which I LOVED. It’s a “hate” to love with a beautiful slow burn. So good!

Summer Road Trip:
Pick a book you’d take with you

The Hating Game Sally Thorne

If I’m road-tripping, I’m listening to an audiobook… particularly if I’m by myself in the car. I’ve wanted to reread The Hating Game for awhile now because I loved it so much, so it seems like a good pick.

Iced Tea Goodness:
A Cold Setting

Best Worst Mistake Brightwater Lia Riley

This is a tougher one. It’s hard to come up with a “cold setting” read when it’s over 100° here and I typically don’t start with *my* cold setting books until closer to Christmas. So, I’ve picked an old favorite, Best Worst Mistake, instead of a more recent read.

Nasty Sunburn:
A book you really disliked

Love Taker Nashville Nights Erin McCarthy

This was my last DNF. I was excited about a series set in Nashville, but Love Taker so wasn’t the book for me. Between the weak heroine and the jackass hero, I was pretty much done as soon as I started. Don’t waste your time.

Sizzling Read:
Recommend a Favorite

When I Need You by Lorelei James

When I Need You is another of my favorite books of the year — and the summer. The entire Need You series is fantastic, but this one is spectacular. I mean, a NFL player who loves Harry Potter? Sign me up!
