That’s a Wrap: June 2017

Goodbye, June… Hello, July!

Am I the only one who feels like June flew right by? Maybe it was because I kept fairly busy, but it doesn’t seem possible that it’s over already. It was the first month that felt summerish (without being totally DC oppressive) so I enjoyed a bit of outside time. I also had a great trip to Pittsburgh for a conference, which extended to a long weekend in PA with my folks. I read a lot of books. I tried to get back on track with meal planning and upping my activity level. As far as bloggy life, I felt like I was being a little more consistent in my posts, which is a good thing. I also decided to make some cosmetic changes to the blog, so if you come across anything weird, let me know. It’ll take me some time to get everything formatted.

All in all, I’m calling June a success.

If you want to know more about what’s going on in my world, follow me on Instagram. There you will find pics of my books, my cats, my outfits of the day and all the other photos I take during my travels around DC and elsewhere. I’m also on Snapchat, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Now, here’s the breakdown of my month of reading/blogging.

  • Total number of books read: 23
    • Young Adult: 1
    • New adult: 1
    • Adult: 20
    • Historical Romance: 1
  • Reviews posted: 22
  • Discussion posts: 0

Reading Challenges Update

First up, the Goodreads Reading Challenge! I HAVE CAUGHT UP! Huzzah!

My goal for the Rock My TBR Challenge is two books each month. This month I read FIVE.

Looking Ahead

July should be fun. Hot, but fun. I’m looking forward to three major things — seeing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone with the National Symphony Orchestra next Friday, going to the Lucky Sevens Author Event in Baltimore next Saturday and seeing my bookish bestie Betsy and her boys when they come to DC at the end of the month. Who knows what else I’ll get into during this month? 🙂

Now, onto the books!

July Book(s) I Need in My Life Immediately!

Some of my most-anticipated book(s) of the month… or the one(s) I haven’t received an early copy of, anyhow. 🙂

July releases I need to read immediately!

These upcoming releases are at the top of my TBR! Soon, my pretties, soon.

Book(s) YOU need in YOUR life immediately!

I spent so much time on ARCs, my TBR and new releases in June that I didn’t get ANY July releases read early, so I don’t have any “must reads” for July for you yet.

That’s all for now! I hope you have a great month!

  1. No, you’re definitely not the only one who thinks June flew by waaaaay too fast! And wow you had a productive month! Very impressed that you managed to read 23 books! I don’t think I’ve ever read that many in a month, as I try to average eight but sometimes only manage a couple. I’m about halfway to my Goodreads goal too, but you’re goal is way more ambitious than mine! Huzzah!

I’m trying to get back on track with meal planning too! I’ve started boiling chicken on Sunday night/Monday morning so that way I have chicken salads throughout the week for lunch. But I’ve failed making healthy dinners Monday and Tuesday so far. Coconut french toast and chili dogs were calling my name *sigh*. But there’s always the next day to try and restart lol! 🙂 Here’s hoping you’re having more success than me!

Summer always flies by for me as it’s my favorite season. It’s mid July! Yikes!!! 23 books is an amazing amount. I only read one adult book in June–Lake of Destiny–and I really enjoyed it. Most of my reading was YA and middle grade.
