When Jen emailed me to ask if I would be interested in participating in this Buzz Tour, I jumped at the chance. I was a little nervous about doing the book cover reimagining she asked me to do — like, that’s a LOT of pressure — but I’m so happy with what I finally decided on that I’m glad I took the chance. More on that cover later. First, let’s talk about the book… (Which, btw, and totally unsurprisingly, is AMAZING.)
It’s been ten years since Sasha Keaton left her West Virginia hometown... since she escaped the twisted serial killer known as the Groom. Returning to help run her family inn means being whole again, except for one missing piece. The piece that falls into place when Sasha’s threatened—and FBI agent Cole Landis vows to protect her the way he couldn’t a decade ago.
First one woman disappears; then another, and all the while, disturbing calling cards are left for the sole survivor of the Groom’s reign of terror. Cole’s never forgiven himself for not being there when Sasha was taken, but he intends to make up for it now... because under the quirky sexiness Cole first fell for is a steely strength that only makes him love Sasha more.
But someone is watching. Waiting. And Sasha’s first mistake could be her last.
Are you ready to see MY cover?
Are you sure?
What do you think?
Obviously I wanted to play up the whole “bride” aspect to go with the “Groom” serial killer. I wanted it to be dark and mysterious… but not in the way you typically see on the cover of suspenseful books. I had no interest in showing people’s faces — or abs, for that matter — and making it look like what you normally see on romance novels. I wanted it to be different. I think I accomplished that. I mean, maybe I’m biased… but I’d totally buy this book. 😉
And yes, I did blurb myself on the front of it just for shits and giggles.
