TBR Thursday [42]

Happy Thursday! You know what that means… time for a new TBR Thursday!

My feature was influenced by Teresa @ Readers Live a Thousand Lives and her On My Shelf posts. I love love love the idea of spotlighting a title from my shelf (or, you know, my eReader) and seeing what you think about it. Sometimes it seems like everyone is reading the same books at the same time and older titles have a way of just fading from the radar. I love this way of featuring an older title and, of course, getting a chance to talk about it with other bloggers and readers. And I want to force myself to do it regularly, hence the TBR Thursday title.

If you’d like to join in on the fun, I’ve created a banner you can use – or you can always make your own! (Right click and save as to grab the image for yourself.) Share your links in the comments and I’ll swing by and visit!

TBRThursday

I’ve been a little lazy lately when it comes to my TBR Thursday posts and I apologize for that. (Honestly I’ve been a lazy blogger period. I’m trying to get better.) Anyhow, I decided to use a few of my TBR Thursday feature posts to highlight books that are STILL sitting on my shelves on NetGalley, despite the publication date having already passed. (I’m ashamed.)

TBR Thursday [42]The Trouble with Destiny by Lauren Morrill
Genres: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Publication date: December 8, 2015
Publisher: Delacorte Press
Add it: Goodreads
Buy it: Amazon

It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey...

With her trusty baton and six insanely organized clipboards, drum major Liza Sanders is about to take Destiny by storm—the boat, that is. When Liza discovered that her beloved band was losing funding, she found Destiny, a luxury cruise ship complete with pools, midnight chocolate buffets, and a $25,000 spring break talent show prize.

Liza can’t imagine senior year without the band, and nothing will distract her from achieving victory. She’s therefore not interested when her old camp crush, Lenny, shows up on board, looking shockingly hipster-hot. And she’s especially not interested in Russ, the probably-as-dumb-as-he-is-cute prankster jock whose ex, Demi, happens be Liza’s ex–best friend and leader of the Athenas, a show choir that’s the band’s greatest competition.

But it’s not going to be smooth sailing. After the Destiny breaks down, all of Liza’s best-laid plans start to go awry. Liza likes to think of herself as an expert at almost everything, but when it comes to love, she’s about to find herself lost at sea.

This book was published back in December 2015. I was super excited about it pre-release but didn’t get around to reading it. Time passed and I started seeing mixed reviews — and some “meh” reviews, so I never jumped into it. It still sounds cute-ish… but I’m just not sure. Convince me! 🙂

Have you read The Trouble with Destiny?
Should I give it a shot?
Or should I just admit I’m never going to read it and send that feedback?
