He’s hot. Like, stop breathing kind of hot with his killer body, vivid blue eyes, and constant five o’clock shadow.
Did I mention his body?
Watching Hollis Knightly, Olympic diving gold medalist, man-pony specialist—and cocky bastard—stand up on the diving platform in nothing but a small piece of Spandex? Yeah, I’m beguiled.
And easily seduced.
I want to keep things light but he won’t leave me alone. And hell, if he’s not wearing me thin.
What is supposed to be a simple summer fling with a very hot man, has now morphed into a f*cked-up mess of feelings, attachment, and dare I say it…love. But I don’t do relationships. And Hollis Knightly does.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for review consideration.
This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
As sad as I am to see the Stroked series come to an end, I’m so happy with the way it went out, I can’t be upset for long! Stroked Hard gave the feels, humor and sexy times I’ve come to expect from this series and I enjoyed it so very much!
Just when I think I have a new favorite book boyfriend in a series — one that can’t be topped — Meghan throws the curve ball that is Hollis Knightly. Hollis had me all heart-eyed. I mean, he was hot, funny, sweet and had a filthy damn mouth. What’s not to love? Did I mention he’s also a “relationship guy” and that he reads romance novels for tips? Where is this guy in real life? Seriously. Because, for real, sign me up.
I enjoyed Melony every bit as much as Hollis, if in a totally different way. One of my favorite things about her early in the series was that she didn’t seem quite as content taking Bellini’s crap as some of the other people who work for her are. That’s true here, as well. Melony was smart, funny and driven. She also had some SERIOUS (and understandable) daddy issues that were impacting her present with Hollis in a bad way. So, sure, I wanted to shake her a couple times because HELLO THIS MAN IS AMAZING and she was waffling… but that didn’t make me like her any less.
I adored Hollis and Melony together, long before they were even technically together. I loved their flirtatious banter and Hollis’ silly nicknames. They had chemistry in spades and I was rooting for them hard. I loved that Hollis pushed her, but never pushed too far. I admire a guy who knows what he wants and goes after it — in a non-creepy way. It was slow going for these two, but totally worth it in my mind.
Fans of the Stroked series will enjoy this one for many reasons — not the least of which is the romance, of course. Hollis and Melony were adorable. I think you’ll agree. I think you’ll also enjoy appearances by favorite couples from previous books in the series. And… if you’ve loathed Bellini as much as I have all this time… let’s just say she gets what’s coming to her. In a way that’s totally, ridiculously over the top and absolutely PERFECT for her. (Because she’s nothing if not ridiculous herself.)
You’ve probably figured it out by now — and maybe I’ve even said it a couple times now in my posts — but I have a new author to add to my list of autobuy/autoread/autopromote favorites. Her name is Meghan Quinn, she’s amazing and I can’t wait to see what she gives us next!
“I’m a pleaser, Melony. I’m a woo-er. I’m a romantic who knows how to fuck you senseless.”
“Remember this night, because this is the last at-the-door hug you’re getting from me. Next time I walk you home, your back will be against your door and my lips will be caressing yours. And after that, my tongue will be in your mouth, my hands dancing across your hips, moving up your stomach, teasing you but never really touching. And after that, I will be fucking you in your apartment, my tongue lapping up the arousal that will be dripping from that sweet little pussy of yours.”
Even after a little jog he smells like heaven. How is that possible? How can a man smell that good? When I perspire I swear I smell like a cat peed on me. Not Hollis, nope, he smells like a freaking man carved out of Irish Spring soap, with a touch of sex.
Hollis Knightly, Olympic Diver has cock… big, girthy, addictive cock. Right about now, I want to praise said cock, give it a handshake, hand it a blue ribbon for being the best cock this side of the western hemisphere.
“Hey, it’s 2016, baby. Romance is all about dirty talk, secret rendezvous, and attentive fucking. Flowers, candies, and poems are old school.”
