Greed. Ambition. Violence. Those are the "values" Olivia Rashidi learned from her Russian mob family-and the values she must leave behind for the sake of her daughter. When she meets Cillian O'Malley, she recognizes the red flag of his family name . . . yet she still can't stop herself from seeing the smoldering, tortured man. To save her family, Olivia sets out to discover Cillian's own secrets, but the real revelation is how fast-and how hard-she's falling for him.

Plagued by a violent past, Cillian is more vulnerable than anyone realizes. Anyone except Olivia, whose beauty, compassion, and pride have him at "hello," even if she's more inclined to say good-bye to an O'Malley. While his proposal of sex with no strings seems simple, what he feels for her isn't, especially after he learns that she belongs to a rival crime family. Cillian knows that there is no escape from the life, but Olivia may be worth trying-and dying-for...

In Review My Thoughts

After reading like three light, funny books in a row, I was in the mood for something a little darker, grittier when I decided to pick up An Indecent Proposal. I couldn’t have made a more perfect selection. I’ve never found myself particularly interested in mob books before the last few months, but thanks to a couple of my favorite authors, I’ve grown to love them.

I enjoyed this book so very much. Something clicked for me with both Cillian and Olivia right from the start. I can’t pinpoint the exact reason, but sometimes that just happens for me. Maybe it was the combination of vulnerability and toughness that Cillian possessed. Maybe it was Olivia’s strength and determination to protect herself and her daughter. Maybe it was the wickedly hot chemistry the two of them shared from the first pages of the book. Whatever it was – and let’s be honest, it was probably a combination of all three – I fell hard for both of them and couldn’t put this book down once I started.

As much as I loved Cillian and Olivia, they put me through the wringer in this book, but it wasn’t over the romance… and it wasn’t a bad thing. I loved how things developed with them on the romantic front. Their first encounter was a bit unexpected, but it was also SUPER HOT. They couldn’t get enough of each other after that, despite their claims that it would be one night only (riiiiight) and I was more than excited about that. I couldn’t get enough of them either. As their bond tightened and their relationship began to define itself, I was thrilled. I was as all in for them as they were for each other. The ups and downs came from the outside forces trying to cause harm. Like the other books in The O’Malleys series, this one has quite a bit of action and I was literally on the edge of my seat a couple times. It’s a mob book, so anything can happen… and I was definitely worried at times. But, that’s all I’m going to say about that.

An Indecent Proposal was a great book and an excellent addition to The O’Malleys series. Cillian was such a great, complex character… I was so happy to get his story. And even happier that it included a strong, independent woman like Olivia. (And the adorable Hadley, of course.) With a combination of great romance, hot sexy times, edge-of-your-seat action and even a bit of humor (and feels!), Katee did it again. I’m so glad to see this series is going to continue. I wasn’t quite done with the O’Malleys personally. I’m glad Katee still feels the same way. There’s a teaser for the fourth book, Forbidden Promises, at the end of this one. The wait until summer 2017 will be long, but I have no doubt it’ll be worth it!

“You think if I take you from behind that you won’t know it’s me?” He shoved into her, drawing a strangled cry from her mouth. His hand snaked around to stroke her. “Please, sweetheart. It’s my cock inside you, my hand on your clit, and it’s me who’s going to make you come. Right. Fucking. Now.”

“I’m not offering to take you home to my parents, sweetheart. I’m talking about sex—the hot and sweaty kind—where we fuck until we can barely remember what day it is, and then both walk away better off than we started. Simple. Uncomplicated.”

“You want to be kept as much as I want to keep you.”

“I spent my entire life learning that I could only depend on myself, and then you’ve come along and shot that all to hell. You’ve been there when I needed you—when we needed you.”

About Katee Robert

Katee Robert learned to tell stories at her grandpa’s knee. Her favorites then were the rather epic adventures of The Three Bears, but at age twelve she discovered romance novels and never looked back.

Though she dabbled in writing, life got in the way—as it often does—and she spent a few years traveling, living in both Philadelphia and Germany. In between traveling and raising her two wee ones, she had the crazy idea that she’d like to write a book and try to get published.

Her first novel was an epic fantasy that, God willing, will never see the light of day. From there, she dabbled in YA and horror, before finally finding speculative romance. Because, really, who wouldn’t want to write entire books about the smoking-hot relationships between two people?

She now spends her time—when not lost in Far Reach worlds—playing imaginary games with her wee ones, writing, ogling men, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.
