My rating:

With Congressman Brady Maxwell up for reelection and journalist Liz Dougherty about to graduate into a promising career, the ambitious couple’s future is brighter than ever. They share a passion for their work…and for each other. But when Brady holds a press conference to officially introduce Liz as his girlfriend, reporters hungry for a scandal bombard her. Now, her every move is under a vicious magnifying glass, and her life feels like it’s falling apart.

On the road to reelection, the passionate bond between the congressman and the journalist gets tested at every stop. Threatened by shameless media sensationalism and jealous exes, Brady and Liz now have to learn to trust each other despite what they read in the papers.

In the finale to USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde’s sexy Record trilogy, Liz and Brady may be setting off fireworks along the campaign trail, but can their love transcend politics as usual?

In Review My Thoughts

For the Record gave me the payoff I needed after the first two angsty as hell installments in Liz and Brady’s story. Now, don’t get me wrong… I loved the angst. It’s not something I can read a lot of, but when I’m in the mood for it, I tend to love it. (And hate it at the same time.) Also, though Liz and Brady have come to a good place in their relationship, that doesn’t mean there are no more bumps. There are. This one wasn’t quite the emotional roller coaster the first two books were, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t some major feels along the way. I thought this was a great way to close out their story and the first part of this series. I grew to really like both characters (and dare I say even maybe love them?) and I am so happy to see how much they each grew from the first book.

Now that Liz and Brady’s story has come to a satisfying conclusion, I really look forward to reading about Brady’s siblings, Clay and Savannah. They’ve both played a part in the first three books in this series and I’m a little hooked on the idea of them getting their very own happily ever afters. I think I’ll wait until Savannah’s book is out and binge the last two. If there’s one thing I’ve learned while reading K.A. Linde – it’s that her books are best read in a binge.

“You’re more than the game changer. You’re the game and the team and the league and the whole universe of sports wrapped up into one neat little package.”

“The lowest lows bring the highest highs. And when you find someone who brings you both, that doesn’t mean you should walk away; it means you have something special.”

“Love blooms in the most unlikely of places. It flourishes in the most difficult circumstances. And it lasts despite all reasons it shouldn’t.”

  1. I’m glad you got the closure you and the characters needed. It sounds like this was the perfect read for the mood you were in too. I am the same with angst, I have to be in the mood for it, otherwise I get frustrated and give up on the book. Hopefully the author does a spin-off with the other characters
