In Review My Thoughts

If you read my review of Off the Record, you’ll know that I binged the hell out of this series last month. I just never got around to writing a review for the last two books. I’m gonna keep this short and sweet as to avoid a ton of spoilers for anyone who, like myself until recently, hasn’t read the series.

On the Record was absolutely gut-wrenchingly angsty at times. (Or, you know, for the majority of the book.) As Liz left Brady at the end of the first book, they spent the biggest part of this one separated. There were new relationships being pursued by both parties. When I’m all in on a couple, I hate seeing them with other people, so I had a bit of a tough time reading this one at times. I had to try to put those feelings aside for a little while so I could get to the payoff I was sure that would come at the end… if not in this book, in the third one. Fortunately we got a little Liz/Brady covert time, so it wasn’t a total loss.

This one definitely left me turning pages. Even though I was half afraid I was going to drown in the angst, I enjoyed it. I’m such a glutton for punishment sometimes. This was a total emotional roller coaster and I was hanging on for dear life. It’s not my favorite book in the series, but it was a necessary one. This one was smokin’ hot and, you guessed it, ended in another cliffhanger!

FAVORITE QUOTES

It had been months. They were long over. Brady probably didn’t even think about her anymore. And yet the thought of walking away from him still made her feel like someone was repeatedly beating the shit out of her.

“You wouldn’t let me love you. It was like walking into a brick wall over and over again. I was the liability that you couldn’t figure out how to deal with.”

“No tears for me, baby. Soon enough you’ll forget I ever existed… just like you wanted.”

“You’re mine,” he growled against her lips. “All of you. Every inch. Make it like he never touched you.”

  1. Great review! Totally agree about the angst and I’m the same as you — it was killing me for them both to be with other people! It felt so wrong! KA Linde knows how to write the angst — have you read her Avoiding series?! OMG!
