Goodreads Book Tag

I think the Goodreads Book Tag has been around for awhile now, but I saw it first when Grace @ Rebel Mommy Book Blog posted it earlier this week. It looked easy and fun, so I decided to do it, too!

What is the last book you marked as “read?”

My Perfect Mistake

This book came out in April, but I never had the chance to read it. Now I’m kicking myself for waiting so darn long. I loved this book.

What are you currently reading?

A Fine Mess

I loved the first book in the series, so there was no way I could wait to read this one. I’m approaching Sawyer rather cautiously because of his manwhore status, but so far so good.

What was the last book you marked as “to read”?

The Promise

I’ve been going through my Kindle app, adding the books I’ve bought to my Goodreads reading list. This was the latest I came across. I love KA’s books. I wish I could make more time to read them. They’re just soooooooo loooooooooong. (But totally worth it.)

What book do you plan on reading next?

It Ends With Us

Confession: I’m scared of this book. I know it’s going to give me more feels than I can handle. But, I think I’m ready. (I should probably go get some ice cream first.)

Do you use the star rating system?

Yes. Yes I do. And because Goodreads – and all major retailers – only uses full stars, I do the same on my blog. And it’s HARD.

Are you doing the 2016 reading challenge?

I am! I’m not doing as well as I usually do, but I’m still confident I can catch up.

Do you have a wishlist?

I do! I don’t add something to my “To Read” shelf until I actually HAVE a copy of the book. It’s the only way to keep myself from getting totally overwhelmed. Right now there are 162 books on my wishlist.

What book do you plan on buying next?

Good question. I guess I’ll know it when I see it. 🙂

What is your favorite quote?

Just one? Really? I can’t do that. Let’s go with one of the most recent…

“I’ve loved you up one side of forever. Now I’m going to love you back down the other.”
~ Tessa Bailey, Thrown Down

… and one of my all-time favorites…

Life is a book, and there are a thousand pages I have not read.
~ Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Princess

Who are your favorite authors?

Unfixable Devil in Winter Maybe Someday Anna and the French Kiss

Again with the tough questions. It depends on the genre… and my mood… and the book… and EVERYTHING. These are just a few.

Are you a part of any Goodreads groups?

I am… but I don’t ever visit them and I have turned off notifications. So I’m not really sure why I still am, honestly.

What could Goodreads do better?

Currently? Get rid of the third column on the homepage of the site. I hate that the recommendations are overshadowing updates from my friends and others I follow. THEIR recommendations and thoughts are far more important to me – and where I often discover new-to-me books – than whatever algorithm Goodreads uses to generate them.

Tag You're It

Like I said above, I’m pretty sure this one has made the rounds a couple times, so I’m not going to tag anyone specific this time. But, if it looks like fun to you, you should totes join in. 🙂

  1. Great list. I love Goodreads, but like you I find the star system really hard. I generally leave only five star feedbacks and add the rest to a folder without stars if I finish the books. You’re doing really well with your goal too, good luck!

  2. I love this tag. Think I’m going to do it!

Yeah, you need ice cream AND a bottle of wine for It Ends With Us. But I’m telling you, it’ll be worth it!! Hope you love it.

I love the cover of The Promise. Need to see what that one is about! Lol.

I’m still part of groups on GR, too, but never visit them. I removed myself from most of them recently, because I don’t see myself getting active on there like I used to.

    This is so fun!
