These Royals will ruin you…
From wharf fights and school brawls to crumbling lives inside glittery mansions, one guy tries to save himself.
Reed Royal has it all—looks, status, money. The girls at his elite prep school line up to date him, the guys want to be him, but Reed never gave a damn about anyone but his family until Ella Harper walked into his life.
What started off as burning resentment and the need to make his father’s new ward suffer turned into something else entirely—keep Ella close. Keep Ella safe. But when one foolish mistake drives her out of Reed’s arms and brings chaos to the Royal household, Reed’s entire world begins to fall apart around him.
Ella doesn’t want him anymore. She says they’ll only destroy each other.
She might be right.
Secrets. Betrayal. Enemies. It’s like nothing Reed has ever dealt with before, and if he’s going to win back his princess, he’ll need to prove himself Royally worthy.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for review consideration.
This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
After the wicked cliffhanger at the end of Paper Princess, I felt like I was counting the days until I would be able to FINALLY read Broken Prince. I had so many questions and, while I suspected things weren’t what they appeared, I had no real proof of that, but I desperately needed this book to prove that Reed isn’t the guy he was made out to be. At least not in the final moments of the first book, anyhow. Plus, you know, I needed answers about so many other things. Broken Prince helped with some questions, but also raised as many new ones as it answered. I’m going to tread carefully in my review so I don’t ruin any of the surprises for you. Just know this much: if you enjoyed Paper Princess, you’re gonna need to drop everything and read Broken Prince as soon as you can get your hands on it.
Broken Prince doesn’t waste any time jumping right back into the story, but this time it’s from Reed’s POV. I liked Reed in the first book. I LOVED Reed in this one. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him better while spending time in his head as he dealt with the aftermath of what happened at the end of the first book. He’s not really the guy he’s made out to be. No, he’s not a perfect guy. He does douchy things. He’s made mistakes. But, when it’s all said and done, I have to believe he is a good guy. I ended up with a huge dose of feels and a pretty sizable crush on him while reading this book. But, crush or not, I didn’t fully side with Reed here. I loved Ella every bit as much this time around. She’s still a super strong character, even after everything she’s been dealing with. She doesn’t cave in and accept Reed’s word immediately. She makes him work for it. I loved that.
And ooooooooh boy, the drama. Much like in the first book, there’s an abundance. It kept me turning the pages. All our old favorite (or most-hated, in some cases) characters are back…. and they – especially Jordan and Brooke – are responsible for massive amounts of drama. It was so good in so many bad ways. There were plenty of twists and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. I love when a book holds me totally captive. And that’s just what Broken Prince did. I couldn’t put this book down once I started it.
If you thought the cliffhanger at the end of Paper Princess was brutal, just prepare yourself for the one-two punch delivered in the last chapter of Broken Prince. I’ll tell you this – I can’t get my hands on Twisted Palace soon enough. I HAVE TO KNOW what happens next. I am so, so very addicted to everything about this series.
I received a copy of this book from the authors in exchange for an honest review.
I’m sick to death of these people. From this point on, they’re my enemies. They’re the prison guards and I’m the inmate. They’re not my friends or my family. They’re nothing to me.
“The moment you and I hooked up for the first time, I was yours. Only yours.”
I can hate myself for it, I can feel like shit every time I remember it, but I can’t rewrite the past.
Have you been ruined by the Royals?
