His boss wants her as an informant. Ailish wants Henrik to keep whispering filthy things against her skin. But she knows too well the evil they’re up against, and when it comes down to protecting the man who owns her body and soul, she only has one choice...

If I’m honest, I’ve been totally intrigued by Henrik, the disgraced cop and fighter, for a long time now. Pretty much since he first appeared in the Crossing the Line series. I needed to know what caused him to lose his badge and head down his current path. I got all that and more in Raw Redemption and it was one heck of a wild ride. There were plenty of twists and turns to go along with all the smoking hot romance, but don’t worry, I’m not going to spoil those for you. You really need to experience them all yourself.
I pretty much loved Henrik from the very start of this book. He lost his badge for a good reason – protecting Ailish. Of course, she doesn’t know it just yet. As they’re thrust back into each other’s lives, the truth spills out and it only strengthens the attraction between them. His need to protect her was obvious in every action. That’s one of the things I love most about Tessa’s men… they’re all in for their woman and it comes through on every page. Yes, they enjoy hot sex and maybe some spanking or bondage, but it’s never about disrespecting the woman. It’s balancing that need to protect and give with their desire to get them a little dirty. And, let’s face it, there’s nothing wrong with that. But, I digress. I found Henrik and Ailish and their story nothing short of addictive. The romance was passionate, the sex was HOT AF (gods, I love a good dirty talkin’ hero) and the accompanying storyline and action had me on the edge of my seat more than once. There weren’t so many twists that I felt like I was being jerked around, but there were enough to keep me guessing.
I’ve been a big fan of the Crossing the Line series since it first kicked off with the Riskier Business novella and after falling hard for Bowen in Risking It All. I’ve enjoyed each new pairing and the action, sex and even humor that’ve come along with each new book. I’m sad to see the series end, but it did so in such a strong way, it’s hard to stay upset. Not only did I finally get Henrik’s story – and it was a good one! – but I found out more about my favorite couples from earlier in the series. I feel like a proud friend as I’ve seen each of these characters grow so much over the course of this series. I’ll miss them, but who knows, hopefully I’ll see more of them in some way in the future. Regardless, I know they’re in good hands and living their happily ever afters.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.
“No, Ailish, he wouldn’t be a match for me. Because once I’d been inside your body, you sure as fuck wouldn’t be referring to me as the guy afterward. I’d be the man whose name can still make you sweat through your clothes. The man whose name makes you cross your thighs and palm your tits. Don’t ever speak about me in the same breath as the guy. Ever again.”
This girl. She was either going to be his reason for living or the reason he died.
“I needed to be what you needed. I still do. It’s like a never-ending ache. Need to be Ailish’s man. Protector. I want to cut down everything in your goddamn path. And then I want to take you to bed knowing I earned it.”
