Hi everyone! Happy Sunday! Can you believe this is our LAST week of the challenge?! It’s been a great summer!
Our last, but absolutely NOT least, blogger spotlight is focused on Renita from #TheBookNerdLife! Renita reviews primarily new adult books, so we have a lot of favorites in common. 🙂 Make sure you read her interview below and check out her Four Seasons in Book Covers challenge – our LAST mini challenge! *sobs*
How did you come up with your blog name?
As a lover of social media I found myself using the hashtag symbol a lot. The Book Nerd aspect came about because I wanted to own all my “nerdy bookworm” qualities and make it known that I am a proud book nerd. I had already been using the #TheBookNerdLife hashtag on my own personal posts so I morphed it into something better.
What genre/subject matter do you read and review most on your blog?
I read a wide variety of genres but my blog and reviews are centered more on the New Adult, Contemporary Romance, Romantic Suspense genres. I’m a sucker for a great love story.
Name three books you’re most excited for in 2015.
Chasing River by K.A. Tucker; Dark Wild Night by Christina Lauren; The Song Of David by Amy Harmon
Where in the world are you blogging from?
I’m from Connecticut, USA. Connecticut is that state between NYC and Boston if you needed a visual lol.
How did you get into blogging in the first place?
It’s honestly a natural extension of what I did pre-blog. I love to read books and I love to talk about them with others. So I decided to take a bit of a leap and build my blog and book nerd community.
Apart from reading, what other hobbies/interests do you have?
I love to write. If I have free time and I’m not reading, I’m writing. I also love the gym and working out (yeah I’m one of those people lol). I am a Football lover and I also enjoy watching (and discussing) my fave television shows and movies (classics and newbies).
If you were stuck on a deserted island, which books would you bring with you?
Hmmm… Anne Of Green Gables. The Book Thief. And one of the Chicago Stars Series books by Susan Elizabeth Phillips which are some of my fave rereads.
If you could have dinner with any three authors, alive or dead, who would you pick?
I’m going to cheat a little. Three Alive: Christina Lauren (I know they’re two people but it’s one pen name), Sarina Bowen, K.A. Tucker; Three Dead: L.M. Montgomery, J.D. Salinger, Jane Austen
What’s your favorite fangirl/boy freakout memory? (Meeting your favorite author, getting exclusive ARCs, etc.)
My very first book signing was with Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I am such a big fan of hers and had never been to anything like this before but I knew I had to go to this one while she was here in Connecticut. I won a special gift for knowing a quote from one of her books. I stayed to the end to get my book signed last and was soooo nervous to talk to her. But she was so sweet and was so touched by how nervous I was to meet her that she playfully threatened to tickle me to get me to relax and laugh. She signed all eight of the books I brought with me with the sweetest messages. It was the best way to be introduced into Book Signing events.
Which book got you hooked on reading?
Hmmm, this is a hard question because I’ve been hooked on reading since pre-K. I’m not sure what the *first* book that did it for me was BUT the answer I most give to this question is Anne Of Green Gables. I read it very early in life and it became the book that’s so near and dear to my heart. I often tell people Anne Shirley is my kindred spirit and she’s the character that introduced me to the idea of having a Book Best Friend and she was a character that reinforced that it was okay to be a strong minded girl who was both smart and unique, to use big words and that a world without an imagination would be extremely boring. Oh and Gilbert Blythe was definitely my first Book Boyfriend.
Thanks for stopping by, Renita!
